Racing just too physical. Munster have a great pack in the set piece, but the whole pack look smaller than the opposite numbers and they are getting shredded in the collisions as a result. The defence does not stand a chance when they are going backwards for every ruck. Ditto for the attack when there is no good forward ball.

What's the weather like there? Could Munster have got the conditioning wrong for the heat? They certainly don't look 100%.

Teddy Thomas needs to learn some respect, that pass in-goal was a disgrace and could so easily have gone wrong.

Munster are disrespecting themselves more than anything.

I don't think Teddy Thomas is all that either, yet here we are

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,764 ✭✭✭✭AdamD

Didn't Thomas drop one over the line recently? Seems a bit dense

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,812 ✭✭✭thelad95

    Who was he disrespecting exactly?

The opposition, do that in an exhibition match, not after only twenty minutes.

He’ll murdered in the dressing room for that.

Wake the **** up Munster. Just being out- thought, out- muscled and generally outclassed so far. A try before half time and it could be game on.

Let's call a spade a spade lads, those 2 tries last time in Thomond Park were a fluke. As in Murray's one and Conway' s.

We are being found out today.

Might be a bit of an unpopular opinion, but I think it's just Racing showingg their superiority rather than mentality or prep. On paper, they have the better players and should be beating Munster.

Awful stuff. Munster not showing up at all, poor tackling and not winning any collisions.

    Long way back now.

14 missed tackles. Scarlets didn't miss that many yesterday

Munster even above most sides just aren't suited to chasing a lead.

All the physicality from Munster is coming from the backs and midfield in particular, Arnold working very hard to keep Munster somewhat in this.

Keatley just isn't up to this standard of rugby. The Munster lineout is in meltdown. Nothing in attack is challenging the Racing defence.

You can't win games like this.

We need a top class international 10 next season

JOD is getting absolutely bullied out there, going nowhere.

Has Ryan read the line outs to the extent they’re making them up on the fly now?

Marshall and Copeland on for me at HT

  • Registered Users Posts: 392 ✭✭Sephiral

Keatley is having a very poor game by his standards. And, if we are being honest, his standards are nowhere near a Champions Cup winning fly half.

You can't win games like this with a sub standard out half. He's meant to be the general and he's more like a staff sergeant

Munsters backrow not in the game at all

Racing not missing their tackles. This is hard to watch.

Even with Murray's quick tap that time the rest of the team looked like it's something they'd never expect from Murray.

It looked almost out of sync with the rest of the team

JJ on for Keatley and Marshall for Scannell ASAP. Wont win the game but we may actually score.

JJ has been rubbish this year but Keatley' head is all over the place today.

Munster really needed a try before half time there.

  • Registered Users Posts: 392 ✭✭Sephiral

That is shocking from a 5m scrum. They desperately needed to score from that ten minutes of pressure to have any chance. Keatley has go at half-time, but chances are it will not be an improvement.

That's a hammerblow, Munster really have done so little with good patches of possession.

Game not out of reach, a thundering start here and a tactical shake up at half time and there's some hope.

Christ Michael Corcoran's stat about teams behind at HT in a semi final is fairly stark.

Murray is having a mare out there. It really stands out.

Looks like it's going to be racings day...Munster just can't get into a rhythm

Sadly can't see Munster coming back from this.

Not a hope, especially in RWC year.

Scarlets missed 13 tackles yesterday. Munster have already missed 14

    Horrendous

    Does Reggie work for BT?

We overcheived this season and had some great moments (Toulon game, tigers home and away etc) and we have to rejoice in that

It's 23C, so not overly warm.

This is f**king embarrassing. So many players completely off the boil and the lineout is woeful.
Keatley has to come off, he's having another sh*tshow of game.

Murray, Arnold and Earls seem to be some of the only ones out there playing, and even Murray has thrown two passes to no one.
JJ can't be worse than than what's currently on the pitch.

So far off the pace they may as well have stayed in Shannon airport.

If Murray was sending scannell on the direct run there why did nobody go with him, did they just expect him to run it in for a try?

Losing is part of the game, but not like this.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,353 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

Munster's forwards have been awful. Fallen off tackles and been dominated in collisions. This isn't a case of suffering in the heat either. They've been second best since the first whistle. Something has gone very wrong with their mental preparation.

Their backs have looked awful as a result. Getting no front foot ball and starting with no momentum. That doesn't excuse the performance however. He's been the worst player in the pitch. It's not as if Racing have been untouchable either. Munster have gotten into some decent attacking positions but haven't pulled the trigger

Munster need to hijack Carbery/Byrne's rumoured move to Ulster. Keatley and JJ have been stealing a living for a few years now, time for them to move on.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,230 ✭✭✭A-Train

Munster way off the pace, just seems every play breaks down with an unforced error.

Regroup at half time and get an early score.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,899 ✭✭✭✭BBDBB

disappointing first half, misfiring across the pitch

In fairness Bleyendaal would be out there if he was fit.

I'd look to resign Bill Johnston and try to develop him.

I feel gutted for the Munster fans, particularly the ones who have travelled to Bordeaux in big numbers.

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,790 ✭✭✭✭Burkie1203

Assuming Racing dont fold, Thomas v Lowe could be epic

Bill Johnston needs to get more game time next year. And possibly Rory Scannell back to 10.

Keatley and JJ have proven they're not up to the standard, and unfortunately Tyler just can't stay fit.
