Garmin have offered a replacement 520 for €115.

Unsure if I'll take up the offer as I've already ordered a Wahoo.

maybe if there was a cycling enthusiast working in met eireann he or she could suggest trying to supply GPS and temp trackers which would mount under the saddle, or somewhere else less prone to being in direct sunlight. some tests would have to be done to confirm how much bum heat might affect the readings.

That would depend on how much Guinness the rider had consumed the night before too

Not sure if it's a bit tongue in cheek as you know there's one, but there's Joanna Donnelly, very vocal on all things cycling.

He also did about 20 more reps than he had to. I presume it was a 24 hour challenge more so than an everesting?

My daughter was telling me tonight that an elderly gentleman on the beach beside her this morning used a paint roller to apply sun cream to his back. Fcuking innovative or what!

Was it one of those rollers with the bottle attached?

    maybe it was actually paint?

I think Pat Kenny could have found a more secluded spot in which to apply his Ronseal Quick-drying Wood Stain.

you know the way sometimes you see strava segment names and wonder what the meaning behind them is?

Does it cross a lot of streams? Bach means 'stream' in German.

none as far as i know. i suspect the real reason is not as prosaic as that.

Question, is it possible to do the tour de picnic and give the ticket to a mate rather than go yourself after you've done the cycle?

Sounds a bit mad I know but I've missed/will be missing a lot of sportives due to work (I do stage work hence the reason for not wanting to attend the festival) so I'm trying to fit them in where I can.

I've always wondered about St Kevin and his eagerness to be rid of that Tallaght girl he murdered.

Feckin Mavic tyres, 4 punctures now in two weeks, two on each tyre and they look to be cut to shreds. Only 1200kms on them, they are a lovely tyre but the payoff is that they are very soft rubber.

Back to contis for me. Anybody get the GP5000s yet? Although there are some great deals to be had on the 4000s

I have the Conti 5000. They are a great race tyre, really grippy and roll really well. I have come to the conclusion though that they, at the minute, are not suitable for anything other than racing. The grip seems to sacrifice longevity and the rear one seems to be wearing very quickly. This might be a batch thing but at the minute, I am keeping it for racing only, unlike the GP4000S, I could not recommend it for commuting etc. at the minute.

whats the good word on Schwalbe? I don't see them mentioned much but got them on a recommendation
