We were watching the Snapper there on telly. Young lads cycling jersey caught my eye Amore & Vita was the team and still is. Nearly unheard of for a team to still have the same name 30 years from it's inception.

A belief in gender identity involves a level of faith as there is nothing tangible to prove its existence which, as something divorced from the physical body, is similar to the idea of a soul. - Colette Colfer

Anyone know where I can pick up a CR2450 battery (for a power meter) in Dublin city centre?

Boots, AFAIR, do a reasonable range of batteries.

Is there a Halfords in the city?

Thanks, they don't seem to stock these from their site.

Got one in a camera shop, some overlap in specialisation.

Within the canals, no. Within the M50 there's one in Coolock.

For future reference in regards those batteries, if you can get to the main one or the Carrickmines one, IKEA sell them, pack of 12 or 20 for 2euro as far as I remember. I have used them and they last as long as any of the branded ones as far as I can tell.

I've used the IKEA ones and they didn't last at all for me, the Duacell ones I bought to replace them are still going strong twice as long as the IKEA ones were in so far.
It's possible I got old ones though. Looking at the shape of them I can't see how different the technology/ materials can be. They're only small like. Who knows!

They look to be 2032s, not 2450s. I've made the same mistake before and put one of those in the PM and it lasted about a week.

Route advice please - for anyone familiar with Lucan/Leixlip.

I got a bit confused today when travelling west out of Lucan heading towards Leixlip. I took the R835 out of Lucan Village but couldn't see a way of getting onto the N4. I went under it but there didn't seem to be any slip road leading onto it on the western side. I ended up going the wrong way up the other sliproad (on the footpath) and staying on the footpath until I got to the Leixlip road where I could then cross to the correct side and continue.

I'm not that familiar with the area. Is there a way of legally cycling between Lucan and Leixlip? Am I missing the obvious?

    Thanks.

Definitely is and others would steer you better, but I'd go through village/ past staggs cycles, over Liffey, through laraghcon and I think there's a bike route through St Catherine's park or further on the r149 brings you to the other side of leixlip. Stay on that road and you'll end up behind Carton House eventually

That's the correct route. You pass the Maxim (on your left) and go under the N4. At the roundabout go left and then take the 1st left. At the t-junction go left, pass the Spa Hotel and McCoy Motors all the way up to the N4 ramp. At the top of the ramp, go right.
At the roundabout, go left down the R148 into Leixlip.
The above is a grand commute route.
Weepsies is probably a nicer spin but on back roads.

    I go through St Catherine's: https://goo.gl/maps/Ugpa8725Sj4qbFgQ6

Where you pass the Maxol garage, go into the little carpark across the gate, and into the park at the end. Follow the river (there's a fork, right is more scenic, left is more direct), and cross the bridge when you come to it. Keep left until you drop down the hill (don't wait on the lights, they won't change for you, but be careful descending obviously), and turn left when you're back on the road, and follow it around to the right. You'll end up on Leixlip main street.

Thanks. Just looking at it on Google Maps now - seems a bit complex for anyone not familiar with the area.

Precisely how I ended up going that way. Didn't know where I was headed

Now that rings a bell. I have a vague memory of taking several left turns in a sort of a 'square' to get onto the N4 a few years ago.

(Strava doesn't seem to recognise the slip road as being a one-way as the route planner advised that route).

If anyone ever needs a long micro-usb cable. the IKEA ones are pretty good.

Do they do data transfer or just charging?

Yeah, full USB: data transfer and charging. They've a nice narrow head too, so they fit into the recessed socket on my Moon Crescent lights.

I assume the fast charge tech and type c connectors has made it to lights at this stage?? Could do with a new front light that doesn't take half the day to charge.

Random tip for those who recharge stuff on the PC at work, don't use the front USB ports to do it.

Not my ones, but they're a few years old now.

I have a couple of Trelock 950's - they charge pretty quickly compared to other lights I've had. (That said, they last 6 hours on the highest setting and 45 hours on the lowest).
