The portal from the cell room cracks open and Webby and Aesc tumble out first. Both are agile enough to right themselves before they tumble down the stairs in front of them.

Stu Pendous however crashes into them and all three roll down the stairs and land in a heap.

Stufur steps gracefully from the portal and smirks at the trio... but the smirk is short-lived when 9Lives appears and sends both himself and Stufur crashing down the stairs.

Echtrae is next, and tries to avoid the oncoming dwarf - but Fector is as graceful as he is large and both tumble down the stairs together.

Brutha is last, and he surveys the carnage below him.

The portal snaps shut after his arrival.

The others all lie in a heap at the bottom of the stairs as the portal slams shut.

There are two directions they can take, the dungeon here is fairly brightly lit.

A passage swings east, or they can push on further south.

Echtrae inspect the bags he picked up before jumping into the portal

Fector looks around at the rabble of bodies that lay around him. He stands up and sighs, looking around the cavern to take in the environment. "9lives, Ech, we have a few new comrades to replace the ones we just lost. Be there a fighter and a cleric among you? Then we will be back to were we where"

9 Lives hops up and brushes himself off,
"that did not go as swimmingly as we could have hoped. We can mourn the dead once were out of this place"
he notices the new people here,
"Ah, so we meet again. How have ye fared since the cell upstairs?"

Malik's contains a potion of health and a waterskin.

Lucillus's pack contains just the waterskin. His holy symbol is missing.

Stu gets to his feet and dusts himself down before thanking Webby and Aesc for the soft landing.

Stufur looks around at his surroundings.

    "East?"

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,329 ✭✭✭jasonb

"Indeed Brothers, you have a Cleric here, and it seems you have met and lost another one on your travels. It is good to see some familiar faces."

  • Registered Users Posts: 13,366 ✭✭✭✭Kolido

Stu turns to Stufur "coming from the west, east sounds good to me"

Stu looks around a bit more while waiting fir the others to get their berrings

Stufur begins checking the passageway East for traps.

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,952 ✭✭✭duffman13

Fector is at the point of realising no matter which way they go they are probably screwed. He follows the others East looking out for traps himself on the way.

Neither find anything of note. The north wall of the east corridor is of smooth marble, save for an alcove in the centre, lined with ornate pillars. The south wall of the corridor is completely smooth. At the end of the passageway, a torch burns brightly, before turning south.

Echtrae catches up with the party, placing the pssessions into his backpack as he goes.

He glances to the south to see what it contains before it is lost from viee

He cannot see much, the south passage is much darker than the east one.

The walls are of a similar texture, as far as Echtrae can see at least.

Echtrae pauses, lights a torch and throws it into the sourthern passage to see if it will illuminate anything of note

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,952 ✭✭✭duffman13

Fector notices Echtrae looking over at the other passage and see him spark a torch in that direction.

"You have a feeling about something down there?"

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,093 ✭✭✭Guffy

"The best lit path is not always the best path" replies Ech

The south passage lights up from Echtrae's torch and Echtrae can make out a door on the east wall at the bottom of the south passage.

"If you want to go and have a look in happy to go with you, should you need protection" laughs Fector

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,093 ✭✭✭Guffy

"Just a door", Ech tells Fector as he catches up.

Stufur attempts to take the torch from its bracket.

Aesc is a bit disappointed that he never tried pick-pocketing anyone in the pileup through the portal. "Damn, I really should do with the practice."
He recognises the movements of another thief, 9Lives, among the newcomers and flicks a small handsignal of the Guild in acknowledgment.

He wanders over to Ech and Fector. "Of the two choices I like the darker passage, easier for me to hide in. Lets check it first and if nothing comes of it we can return here."

    I'm older than Minecraft goats.

"I'm easy", replies Echtrae, "you still game Fectore? Wouldn't mind bringing this new cleric along lest we have need of him. Party of four could suffice, no?"

"The effort of it all though, the effort"

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,093 ✭✭✭Guffy

    Echtrae motions the cleric over,

"Well met cleric, Echtrae is my name"

Webby, still on the floor looks to see whether the gem he threw in earlier is still around. While the others are in conversation, his face is mostly locked on the stairs and the floor at the bottom.

Webby pushes his hand in his side, sore from the tumble down... suddenly struck by a sense of nervousness, Webby checks his bag, pockets and quiver to make sure all his items are still accounted for.

"Dont forget about the halfling!" he yelps at the group.

  • Registered Users Posts: 13,366 ✭✭✭✭Kolido

Stu hasnt a good feeling about this, but has no other option but to tag along. He cries, "I dont like the dark, keep that torch lit"

  • Registered Users Posts: 468 ✭✭Nebelwerfer

Webby looks on as the group parts itself, with no hesitation or reason. Quickly he realises he might be left behind, "Larger numbers are safer after all. This goes double for halflings" he thinks to himself.

He looks east then south... before turning east again, following Stu, Stufur and Brutha... "We got this far together" he says as he prepares to join his fellowship.

The torch comes off easy enough.

The gem is nowhere to be seen. Looking up, Webby can see that at the top of the stairs is a solid rock wall. No portal in sight.

"Lead the way Aesc, grab that torch i threw to help you scout the way", Echtrae points at the very obvious flaming torch laying in the middle of the floor.

He takes a watersking from his bag and takes a sip, "tis dusty down here! Water anyone?"

The torch comes off easy enough.
"Alright fellows, I'm heading down this Southern Passage."

Stufur walks southward with the tourch.
