Having applied her lippy and mascara, Lalwende begins to paint her toe nails while contemplating a lone run.

Anything of note in the weapon rack?
A lance hangs from the rack at a weird angle - it's standing upright and hanging out at a 30 degree angle, it looks like it's only secured just below the vamplate. (OOC : Google it. I'll wait. I want you to know how much effort goes into these authentic little details). By rights it should already have fallen off the rack.

Given her lack of nail polish, and - despite all evidence to the contrary - Lalwende not having a magic bag filled with any cosmetic item she wishes, she paints her toes with the only material to hand : Orc Blood.

    Ok Brutha, stand clear
9lives checks to see if there is any mechanism attached to the lance and if it could be a level of some sort

OOC: Impressive, that can be my new word of the day

Echtrae, in a vein attempt to be of some use, scans the room (and statue) in order to see if his superior intellect can spot anything.

There is no apparent reaction to Webby's whistling, and he finds no evidence of any traps or danger. It is not clear if the sight of Webby unnerves the statue.

Webby creeps into the room, trying as much as he is able, to cling to the shadows.

    He waves his team over.

He feels loot frenzy come over him, perhaps there is some loot hidden, some treasures not yet found.

He goes down the exploratory route, keen to explore every inch of this room.

Stu's eyes light up at the mention of loot, he moves closer to Webby while scanning the room.

    Brutha stands back.
9 Lives can't see any obvious mechanism, it looks like a regular lance. The end is diamond-tipped (OOC : that's a head shape, not the gem.), it's clearly built for combat rather than competition.

9lives scans the room one last time, take a quick look at the body of their assailant in the fountain to see if he was carrying anything, then moves towards the door to see if he can see why mini-tor was having issues opening it

Lalwende grabs the quarterstaff from Echtrae's bag. She constantly scans the rear of the group using her infravision while wearing her mail and holding the orc sword. "I'm assuming we are all in this together? If so, any loot should be divided equally. I'll make sure we're covered from the rear."

Square inch 1. Nothing to report.

Square Inch 2. Nothing to report.
Square Inch 3. Nothing to report.

    .......
Webby is incredibly thorough, but the only new thing he discovers is the stone he threw in earlier. And I suppose the whistling noise seems to be louder in the southern half of the room.

Stu catches up to him, also having found nothing of note beyond the contents of post #686

Scanning the rear of the group, Lalwende cannot help but contrast the incredible tone of Fectors glutes with the appalling slackness of Echtrae's. And also there's nothing coming up behind them.

The boarman has a small pouch with 50gp in it and several candied sweets stuck together.

9Lives and Brutha approach the door - there is nothing remarkable about it, although from the amount of blood around the small ring handle it looks like the Boarman was unable to grip it with his trotters.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,344 ✭✭✭conor222

9 lives checks for any traps he can see, and if not he tells brutha to get ready to swing if something comes though the door.
Provided no traps found Brutha lines up outside the edge of the doorframe that he can swing on someone coming through the door, 9lives will attempt to pull the door open

  • Registered Users Posts: 673 ✭✭✭The Dungeon Master

9 Lives sees no sign of any traps, and a nod from Brutha confirms that he doesn't either. The thief turns the handle, slowly..... slowly..... there's a click and suddenly! The door swings open. On the other side is a short corridor running east before turning north after twenty feet or so. This short stretch is well lit.

Lets go adventuring, 9lives scans for traps as they move slowly though the corridor

"Inspection... In record time!" Webby thinks to himself, giving himself a figurative pad on the back, in his mind.

He looks around in the room and sees the ornate mirror.

    "Lalwende would have loved this..."

He carefully walks over to the mirror, still cautious, even though he has explored EVERY inch of the room (within reach ofcourse). He takes care not to step over or onto the spirals laid into the floor.

He picks up the stone he threw in earlier.

Lalwende follows Webby into the room and checks her lippy (slurp blood) in the mirror. She then examines the mirror carefully and cautiously before examining it again with her infravision.

9 Lives and Brutha follow the corridor, turning a corner and moving north, then west, then hairpinning back east. Eventually they come to a nondescript wooden door.

Despite his caution, Webby stands on at least one of the slightly raised stones making up the many spirals. Nothing happens.

Looking at the mirror, he notices everything he sees in the mirror is the same as what's in the room - only BACKWARDS! (OOC : it's your character, up to you if he's seen a mirror before, just leaving the door open :D) .

Annoyingly, near the bottom of the mirror - right over Webby's face, due to his height - there's a smudge.

Lalwende joins him - and in the mirror there's a Ednewlal right beside the Ybbew! (OOC : Actually, Lalwende has extensive mirror experience in this dungeon alone, so is unlikely to be surprised).

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,379 ✭✭✭✭Professor Moriarty

"Okay, Webby. Let's get out of here, we're only wasting time. I'll keep a lookout at the back of the group." Lalwende walks to the door and waits for the others to file out.

Webby dances across the spirals, delighted with another halfling now visible in the mirror.

Webby presses against the smudge, with his 'finger'.

  • Registered Users Posts: 673 ✭✭✭The Dungeon Master

OOC : Webby - See PM before any further posting.

The smudge comes away easily under his thumb, although grease from his own thumb does leave a little streak on the mirror. Once cleared, he can see his usual smooth-chinned self in the mirror.

Back at the archway, Echtrae and Fector file in.

Neither 9 Lives nor Brutha can hear anything through the door. They see no evidence of a trap though 9 Lives can see that it's locked.

Webby, still baffled by the reflective sheet that propelled this beautiful specimen into his sight, ponders the meaning of all of this. Unsure about the relevance of the room, the importance of the statue or even the significance of the spirals on the floor.

He ponders on his next move.

"Any ideas chaps" he calls out to his team mates.

As she addresses Webby, Lalwende notices that he appears to have grown a goatee-style beard.

    Fector nods approvingly.
