"Unless there is a key in the bottom of that fountain this door is staying closed."
He uses his bow to rake along the bottom of the fountain and push any debris out the gutter into the small puddle.

The liquid pools out, some of it onto the floor. Aesc finds nothing at the bottom of the fountain despite his searching.

"Ach! Alright then, let's move on for now."
He heads through the archway, south as far as the west passageway then west, cautiously.

The west passage winds south slightly ahead of him. This area is in darkness, no torch lights the way.

Lalwende follows Aesc. "I have your back." She peers over his shoulder using her Infravision while constantly checking behind her.

He heads back to the archway and takes a couple of torches from the south passage.
    He talks quietly with Lalwende.
"Can you REALLY see in the dark? I'd love that. To me, as a thief Darkvision would be a bit useful."

She can see the passage wind south clearly with her infravision. Nothing of note other than this.

OOC: If we're basically in stasis back at the Tomb, can I use that as a chance to rest/pray/load a spell? Or are we effectively frozen in time within the game until our section continues?

OOC : Since you're a part of the frozen tableau, no not really. There will be situations where this will be possible, but this isn't one of them - generally it will be situations where you're separate from the paused group or a paused group is catching up. There's a lot of players, time is going to get a bit gooey :D

However, since everyone was supposed to declare what spell(s) they had prepared for "today", which started in post 1 of this thread, now would be an excellent time for you to do so. Level 1 cleric gets 1 L1 spell.

OOC: No worries, I've fine with time getting gooey and a lot of the time I'm the one who isn't around! And as you're kind enough to let me declare now, I'll have 'Cure Light Wounds' please. And please don't be shy in reminding us newbies when a new day begins! ;) Thanks!

    OOC: Sorry busy day!
Webby gets a grin on his face "My arrowhead still lodged in there? If so, can I have it back... I am kind of short... on arrows".
Stufur reaches into his eye and pulls out the arrow, with the eye juice still on it.

    "Here you go....urrggghhh"

He lies against the tomb, groaning in pain.

Webby takes the arrow from Stufur. "I am glad to see you're back, though I am unsure whether you feel the same...".

With the door open again, Brutha tries a Turn Undead in the hope it's a way of helping Sandor & Stufur, rather than possibly having to kill them.

OOC: I'll do a dice roll on Rolz now... And bugger, I got snake eyes! :)

As Webby places his hand on Stufur's shoulder, they hear the audible click and the wall begins to slide back....

OOC: Webby, Stufur you have a single action each before the door opens and the next part plays out as described by Meera and Brutha

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 468 ✭✭Nebelwerfer

Webby's instinct kicks in and dodges away from Stufur, fearing for his party and knowing the damage opening the door can cause, he throws the torch in his hand at Sandor in the hope to draw his attention away from the door.

"You should have stayed away!!!" Webby shouts at the wall, as it begins to slide back.

Lalwende continues to stand behind Aesc in the corridor. As she constantly scans the corridor for danger, she idly wonders if the thief might steal some deodorant for himself.

Fector hears the wall begin to move and moves from his day dream slumber to position himself behind Meera, War Hammer in hand

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,969 ✭✭✭✭Kolido

Stu is perplexed at the position Fector has taken up but gets ready for action nontheless.

Aesc wanders why he is in the vanguard rather than behind the elf with the good eyesight.
"After you. Let me know if you find anything and I'll try disarming it."
They continue down the corridor softly arguing the best strategy as to who should take the lead.

The torch misses Sandor and bounces off the wall.

'Oh, how I wish that had hit me, ended my existence.'

He walks forward, gesticulating at the sky as the door opens fully.

The door is now open, Stufur can see the rest of the party looking agitated, he sees Meera with a bow aimed directly at him.....
And Brutha attempting to use his holy symbol to turn the vampires.

Meera is like lightening, she fires an arrow from her bow directly for Stufur's heart. Her aim is not true though, and the arrow bounces off the back wall of the room, missing Stufur by quite a distance.

Brutha attempts to turn both vampires, but his holy symbol fails to light up.

Stufur, Sandor and Webby stand facing Brutha, Meera, Stu Pendous, 9Lives and Fector.

Panick overtakes Echtrae, one of those fight or flight moments. He starts to back away from the door, one step, two steps, remembers he has an active spell (he thinks) and ignites a torch. Echtrae rushes forward and holding the lit torch into Sandor's back.

Stufur, seeing he is now persona non grata, tries to reason with them.

"I lost my mind there for a moment, I am fine now, please we are all in this together!"

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,374 ✭✭✭jasonb

Brutha shouts out "Please, no violence, these creatures are trying to reason with us!"

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,290 ✭✭✭Guffy

Hearing Brutha's shouts for reason Echtrae regrets the danger he has put himself in immediately but is frozen by fear. To much has happened and he is afraid for his life if Sandor doesn't ignite. Also those jewels are rather nice

"Wait!!!! Everyone, please wait!" Webby jumps in front of Stufur waving his hands frantically.

"We are limiting our chance of survival by quite a bit, if we just start killing team members at the first opportunity!" he proceeds to explain. "We should aim to punish those who put us here, not those who were put here in stead".

Webby looks at the arrow in his hand, eye goop still dripping off and turns red. "If only a single action is what defines us then I deserve the same fate as him" he says as he points towards Stufur with the goopy arrow in his hand.

OOC : A quick note before you all proceed with your actions - Lighting a torch takes a combat round. If you wish to light a torch and then attack, you light the torch, let everyone else take their go, then attack on your next round according to init.

Stu Pendous - if you intend to attack, let's all go roll for Init in the Meatgrinder . You can all still go for dialog over action if you want, but since some of you seem to have your hearts set on violent ends, I don't want to be seen to stand in your way!

Webby looks at Meera "You saw what happened, Stufur launched at me, after I begged for him to return... I got what I asked for and then some...".

Webby points and Sandor and then back at Stufur.

"Do they seem like a danger to you? The king who sulks in the corner, begging for release and the companion that tries to reason with everyone taking aim at him and even firing?".

He shrugs at Meera and proceeds to explain "There is no danger at the moment, would it not be fair to at least hear those out who have proven themselves worthy?".

Lalwende steps forward until her face is three inched for Aesc's. She stares deeply into his eyes. "Okay, Aesc. By the sounds of things, the others have a battle on their hands. I think we should leave them at it. All of this exploring and battling has got me quite flustered. I'm happy to find a quiet corner somewhere where we can pass an hour or two pleasantly. Or maybe you aren't man enough and would like to do something else?"

With her ears pricked for noises, and another arrow nocked in her bow, she steps into the room and looks around.
