Power Supply

Hi,

I currently have a VS550 cosair but ive heard its very poor quality.

I am thinking of getting a GTX 760 and not sure it will be ok with that power supply from its reviews.

Is there any other power supplies that someone can recommend without spending a fortune. I sent 50 euro on the VS550.

It'll be perfectly fine for a GTX760. It's a budget Corsair supply but I wouldn't call it poor quality.

770 is pushing it. It's quite power hungry. You'd want to be looking at GTX 960/RX 570/GTX 1050Ti territory. They offer similar performance at much less power consumption and will suit your PSU just fine.

Your current PSU will be fine with a GTX770. No real need for an upgrade unless you want a better PSU.

Its companies like alienware really over pushing 1500 power supply. No need for anything near that.

To be honest, there are people out there running 8 core Ryzens and 1080 Ti's on a 450W power supply.

I ran my own system (6700k & 1070) on a 450W Corsair RM just fine for a while too.

The greater benefit of running a high-power PSU is that they're generally rated for lower fan speeds at "normal" power load.
E.g. my RM750 fan NEVER spools up even during gaming workloads, since it's still under 60% load.
