Hi, I'm wondering if TV manufacturers are expected to do any specials in conjunction with this years World Cup.

Hoping to make the purchase in about 3/4 weeks within the budget range of €650 to €850 and looking for a hdr in the 45/55 inch range.

Have Hisense offered anything considering they are a main sponsor or should I just confine my search to the household brands ie Panasonic, Sony, Samsung etc?

    Thanks.

    Hi Fann Linn.

At the moment Samsung have a deal running where if you purchase a qualifying television you can claim a free world cup country football shirt but it starts on the QLED range and above.

There are currently no other world cup promos but thats not to say that closer to the time some manufacturers may have other promotions.

Some manufacturers are also starting to roll out their new ranges so some current televisions may not be available in 3 - 4 weeks. Sony's have already started to dry up with their new screens on the market and Samsung following suit.

Currently the most popular 55" would the 55MU7000 coming in at 899 Euro (just a little over budget).

Panasonic also have the fantastic 58EX700 priced at 769.00 Euro

Hisense offer up the 55N6800 priced at 719.99 Euro

All of the above also include over 6 year guarantee free of charge.

Thanks for that Kenny. I actually liked the spec on the Panasonic prior to your suggestion, at present it would be my favourite.

Give me a few weeks to get the cash together and I'll get back to you.

    Thanks again.

Hi Kenny, I'm thinking of going for the above Samsung, however the wife needs to know what the dimensions are for the attached stand and also if there is a way of narrowing the legs of same as she won't let me get rid of the tv furniture we already?

    Thanks.

    Hi Fann Linn,

I don't actually have the specs for the stand width although it comes quite close to the edges of the TV which are 1226mm apart. Unfortunately the legs can't be moved, they're fixed at that position. The legs on the TX58EX700 can be moved though.

Let me know what you think.

    Kind regards

    David

Just to let ye know that the TV arrived this morning and I have it up and running now. A straightforward operation that took no more than an hour to complete from start to finish.

Furthermore, as to the stand on the TV, I am pleased to say that there are two slots available so the base can be narrowed or widened, and my tv is sitting safely on a 42 inch base, so no need to change the furniture.

Finally, the tv arrived with paperwork asking me to register the package with Samsung so as to avail of a years guarantee. Is there any need to do this considering Richersounds provide the 6 year warranty? And on that subject, am I just required to hold onto my receipt and invoice so as to avail of same, or does Richersounds keep a record also?

Again, thanks very much for excellent service and I will certainly recommend and use again should the need arise.

    Hi Fann Linn.

Excellent news that you are up and running and enjoying your new TV.

You can register the TV with Samsung with no issue but as you say the 6 year guarantee is covered by ourselves.
Your purchase including the 6 year are logged on our till system under your name and address.

Should there ever be any issue with the television you just drop us a call and we can find you on our system and take it from there.
Should you ever need another copy of your receipt we can email this over directly off of our till system.

If you have any other questions just drop me a PM or a post.
