    There should be 3 votes...
    Yes to abortion on tap
Yes to abortion with massive restrictions
    No to abortion

What happens if someone is expecting twins, can they abort 1 or would that revert to current rules?

Is this what you think of women?

Could we not have Dunphy and Giles in to debate it?

Johnny Giles would talk about how it used to be in the great Leeds team of the 1970s whilst Dunphy would throw his pen across the studio and say something like "the 8th is a good amendment not a great amendment."

The above probably would not happen!

I don't believe he has any nefarious agenda. Do you believe he has a nefarious agenda, Dick?

"John'll tell you...the great babies...Stewie from family guy, Bruce Willis from Look Who's Talking, the one with the lizard tongue from V...these are the great babies. You don't have them in the modern baby game."

This is a ridiculously unbalanced debate. Two medical professionals versus a Christian broadcaster and a woman with a dodgy scarf both pedaling out enough emotional strawmen to keep a field clear of crows for the next six months.

Such an imbalance of actual practical knowledge.

Perhaps they have a 2 bed apartment and 2 kids would be too many, housing crisis and that or they want a boy so he could play football and don't need the girl...this is the way the world has now gone.

It's one way now. Ireland is the first on many far left issues.

    What far left issues???

I’m a bit behind, but that woman who was raped obviously chose what was best for her and decided to keep the baby. Encouraging every other woman to keep her rapist’s baby is all kinds of fcuked up. It’s an individual decision and a choice, which is what this whole thing is about. She chose to keep it, others should have the choice to not.

Who determined the panellists? Woefully lob sided at first impression. Iv heard nothing of substance from the no side. It's a bit of a let down,I was expecting skin n hair flying across the set. Pffft...... Dr Peter Boylan alone is schooling these two amateurs.

He has been forced to leave his home he lived in with his wife for many years. His wife is not well. They are both in their latter years. He defended himself and his wife against a burglar holding a screwdriver intent on robbing their money and possession.. because that man killed the perpetrator who has numerous convictions for burglary his life and his wife's has been made complete hell. Disgraceful.

You don't need a passport to travel to the UK, only Ryanair require it, more pure out and out fake news.

I am delighted for this lady that she had her baby.

That was her choice and it is wonderful.

Why her choice means that everyone else has to go through pregnancy does not sit well with me.

Just reading through the posts and it appears there's 90% in favour of voting Yes.

I'd guess the referendum will be passed 55% to 45%.

It illustrates how unrepresentative these online fora are of the real opinions of Irish people. I'm voting No as I feel it will save more lives and overall be the best outcome. I respect everyone's valid reasons for voting Yes.

The law. It's imposing morals on everyone. The "imposing morals" argument in relation to abortion is possibly the most stupid I've ever heard. We impose our morals everytime we make a law.

A no vote would do nothing.

We would still have the farce of women going abroad for abortion.
In scenarios like the first lady there

    Why would we want that??

Her colleague not being able to conceive is unfortunate. But is no reason for other women to need care in a crisis pregnancy.
