What non ball hitch bike rack for 2 elec bikes

Looking at Thule hitch racks for 2 Elec bikes and they all seem to be based on using the ball on the hitch, as opposed to a piece of box like here https://www.etrailer.com/Hitch-Bike-Racks/Thule/TH958.html My instinct is that the box section idea is better than relying on friction on the ball hitch. The box section tow bar mounts are used in the USA it's just the normal ball hitch here in Europe. They still lock on very securely. I have a four bike Buzzwing rack and it's rock solid. Just make sure the rack you get that's rated for the weight.
