This thread is intended to keep posters informed as to any media information that discusses Metrolink - either positive or negative. Tis will allow those interested to keep informed, and counteract anything they disagree with. This includes twitter, facebook, and other social media.

Post links to details, news items, etc. or details of meetings, etc.

For the time being, no chat is allowed.

This is to keep it focused on the Metro. If it turns out that chat could help with feedback, then it can be allowed. In the meantime, chat will be deleted.

Good idea. This will be beneficial because the "pro-Metro" side of the seesaw is as up in the air as DART Undergound in the minute.

Best of luck with this venture, we are all here to help.

Thanks mod team, this is exactly what we need. As has been said we encourage all posters to bring any media or social media coverage on metro which they deem is unfair, biased, lacking substance and generally negative to our attention here.

We will also keep you up to date with our progress over the coming months. Already the twitter page has received a lot of attention so lets hope this continues.

    Your support is much appreciated!

Irish Times article about school children opposing Metrolink.

Students hold demonstration over proposed MetroLink site
Hundreds of school children formed a human chain on Thursday to highlight the impact a major infrastructural construction site will have on their schools if the Glasnevin phase of the proposed MetroLink rail project gets the go-ahead.

Details of the emerging preferred route announced in March include the acquisition of a number of residential and commercial properties. If approved, the route would also require the requisition for an estimated period of six years of Na Fianna GAA club’s front pitch, its two all-weather pitches, Home Farm’s soccer pitch, and lands used to access the two schools.

The schools say that at its closest point, the construction site will be just two metres from the art room of Scoil Chaitríona and five metres from the inside of the junior infants classroom in Scoil Mobhí.

Two metres from the Art room? That sounds very close - I wonder where they are measuring from as the site is very big.
