Sound gone on my JP Mega Drive 1

Noticed the sound is gone on my Mega Drive the other week. Tried a couple of carts and unplugging/replugging the scart (which has a aux cable to plug into the headphone port) but no joy. I don't have another cable to try instead guessing I should order one? Also I guess I should open the machine and look at the board see…

I don't have another cable to try instead guessing I should order one? Also I guess I should open the machine and look at the board see if it's the volume slider got broken. My 3 year old may have been poking around at it.
