    WOW - is this just trying to squeeze some more cash out of NASA now that the US is finally getting close to getting back to manned space flight.
    or is this Putin doing the politics ?



    The Russia segment of the ISS can be un-docked and floated away if need be. So it's not like they'll loose their investent.


    TBH it's the US of A's own fault for ditching manned space flight capability.

    The Russians are vary weary of the Chinese stealing technology though.

    I can see it happening alright. The US made a complete mess with ending the Shuttle programme before they had a new craft ready to take over. The US human space programme is a shambles at the moment with no clear goals. Talk of a Lunar outpost of missions to Mars are all just talk at the moment. A real goal with money to back it is the only way forward.
    In reality the US will need cooperation from international partners like Europe, Russia and even China to return to the moon never mind Mars.
