Free for one month over summer - want to work somewhere abroad

Hey, I have a summer job that begins at the start of June and finishes on August 10th. I have month free September 10th, when I'm back to college, and I ideally would like to go somewhere abroad where for that time and work so I could save up some small bit more cash before college starts. I feel that this could be a bit tricky given I'm only going to available for a month maximum, but even if it was a volunteering job somewhere interesting where you were put up and given a couple a meals a day I'd consider it. I've heard hostel jobs can be good for this but I'm not entirely sure where to even start looking. Would just like to get some info from somebody who has worked abroad or volunteered abroad on something that wasn't a J1 before.

Heya, a month isn't a very long time and most certainly you'd need to have it sorted before you go. Try the website Workaway, they charge a membership of about 30USD per year IIRC but they link you with volunteering options.
Depends where you want to go for paid employment but for just 1 month you'd be looking in the hospo side of things which don't usually advertise online.
    Good luck!

Try Workaway or Wwoof, both are volunteer organisations that you register with and then find a person/group/organisation to go and work with. Workaway.net is international and the work could be anything from a school in India, an elephant reservation in Africa or a hostel in Canada...more local options available too. Wwoof is worldwide working opportunities on organic farms and each country normally has its own site.
For both of these a month is perfect, you live with a host family and work 25 hours a week for food and board.

There's a small chain of hostels around Europe called Hostel One (http://www.hostelone.com/) who often advertise for volunteering openings on their Facebook page. I've stayed in a few and they are some of the best hostels I've ever been in. Might not hurt to follow them on Facebook or maybe send them a message.

There is a EU Portal for volunteers opportunities, might be worth a look: https://europa.eu/youth/node/69_en
