TLOU 2 looked fantastic, Death Stranding will be really interesting

Death Stranding so far looks like an LSD walking simulator.

Imagine if half life 3 was announced as a switch exclusive, all the pc heads would go mental!

Kojima is a sham and just steals peoples ideas:

I am wondering will Death stranding be like Blade Runner 2049. A bit too artsy fartsy. Just don't know.

it already came out on PC and we just didn't tell you as the graphics were so beyond what a console could produce that they decided to keep you all in the dark

I thought Death Stranding looks amazing, out there Kojima stuff, I haven't watched TLOU 2 trailer as of yet, I only watched the initial reveal with the guitar and nothing since...

I thought the game was perfect and didn't need a sequel so I'm very hesitant about any sequel tbh...

    Nothing about FFVII at all?

At least Blade Runner 2049 had a coherent script, which I won't be expecting from Death Stranding.

Also, I thought Blade Runner 2049 was great.

I heard they couldn't finish making it because all the eyegasms from the graphics were making people's brains explode.

If HL3 ever did come out it would be a big let down. What could they possibly do that hasn't been done already at this stage?

They made a documentary about a bunch of german console gamers who got hold of a copy, I think it was called Raiders of the Lost Ark.

I think a ryzen 1600 and 1070 TI might be able to outperform a 4K console for fps and going higher on settings than the consoles could?

To me the real difference here is being able to change graphical settings to get a better FPS if you wish. There's games on 8th gen that could perform better but the publishers or devs chose to favour graphics. Just the same, there's lots of PC games that play and even look like garbage because of taxing post processing. Syncing, blurring, chromatic aberration, depth of field, all these things to me either do nothing or make it look worse while reducing FPS. I had to hex edit DMC4:SE's .exe just to rid it of the god awful blur. You'd be stuck with that on console.

You want the best graphics with the best framerate? Go PC all the way.

Funny thing for me is that direct graphical fidelity is the last reason I built a PC. It was all about huge library of games, cheap, upgradable and capable of doing something other than gaming.

Death Stranding could well be a disaster - it’s hardly like Kojima is known for his coherent storytelling practices. But my god is it refreshing to see a creator clearly let off the leash with a budget backing him - I’m all for a demented oddity in an beige AAA landscape. He’s cited stuff like You Were Never Really Here as the stuff that’s inspiring him recently, which is encouraging.

I'm a bit disappointed that Sony didn't announce an equivalent to ea access or xbox game pass ( not for new games because that'd be too unrealistic). I tried ps now but I thought it was fairly crap.

Looking forward to Nintendo. Hopefully a release date for Travis strikes back, some more wii u ports ( a portable Tokyo Mirage Sessions would be great ) and some hint at what the rebranded virtual console will be like.

I'd agree, there's nothing they could do with it now that hasn't already been done at some point in the last 14 years. Not to mention the story would make absolutely no sense to anyone who didn't play the first 2.

It's one of the biggest disappointments in gaming history that they just left it to rot - there was nothing stopping them giving the IP to another developer if they couldn't be arsed with it themselves.

Tbf, most people wouldn't be bothered going through that kind of hassle.

A big problem with the current gen - including the PS4 Pro and Xbox One X - is that they have seriously weak CPU's.

It's why in many games on the Pro/1X, they can't offer 1080p60 or 4k30 options because the CPU can't do the former.

Also why CPU demanding games like Fallout 4/Battlefield 1 online and a few others run somewhat badly even on the Xbox One X with framerates all over the place.

The Xbox One X is basically like building a Gaming PC with a €60 processor and a €500 graphics card.

Even on PC that would work great for 80-90% of games, but there'll always be a few where it falls flat and you get unreliable performance.

They should give it to Telltale.

    The fanboys will remember that.

Na E.A would be more suitable - they can stuff it full of microtransactions and loot boxes, and for the ultimate insult, make it an exclusive mobile game :D:D

That's pretty interesting and something I didn't know about. Do you think the likes of the 1200 (currently £65 on Amazon), g4560 (£45) and g5400 (£55 I think) might change that?

There's been some serious boost in low cost CPU performance lately and I really want to pop my 970 into the sister and her boyfriends g4560 build to see how it does on the likes of Xcom or The Witcher 3 (don't have bf1 as it's not really my thing) when really pushed. I've tried as is, but it's the 1050 ti that's holding it back before I can test get on to pushing the CPU to its limits.

I've had in my head that scale and other areas to push a CPU are going to be the main focus in the next generation over graphics, just a personal bunch based on almost nothing but if those new CPUs are anything to go by it just might be?

I'm worried because Kojima's best stuff has been when he hasn't had total control and had people to say no to his silly ideas (MGS1, 3, Peacewalker, Boktai, ZOE2).

His bad stuff has mostly been when he has had almost complete creative control like MGS2 and 4 (for the MGS2 apologists, it had fantastic forward thinking ideas but the execution was garbage).

Yes, the G4560 is what I was thinking of, which is basically an i3-6th gen with less cache. It's excellent in most games considering the price but then falls down badly in a couple of CPU heavy titles though. EG you could pair it with a GTX1080Ti and run Witcher 3 at 4k ultra 60fps no problem. But the same combo playing Battlefield 1 online would be a stutter-fest as the fps would vary greatly.

Ryzen 1200 is better because it has four actual cores with decent performance per core. The tech the PS4/XB1 are based on is much older AMD tech, eight core but each core has super low performance while the G4560 has two cores, with excellent performance - but in CPU heavy games it suffers from being just dual core.

So if you look at videos of the G4560 playing games on YouTube, you will notice it has more difficultly with the exact same games which have known framerate issues/30fps caps on the consoles as its raw CPU power is similar to the games consoles.

So I didn't watch the shows, I just want the trailer and gameplay. So I ran through all the trailers and gameplay vids so far. And the one I'm most excited about is Ghost of Tsushima. It looks amazing! If the end product looks anything like that, it will be a phenomenally good looking game. I don't see what you were referring to about the combat Retr0, it looks pretty good to me. Maybe they'll make it a bit more smoother before release, but it looks damn good to me. Like AC and Batman in one. Day 1 for me anyway.

Spiderman still looks good, but I didn't want to watch too much more as I don't want to dilute the experience when it comes out. TLOU2 looks amazing, so i'm sure I'll pick that up too at some stage. But it's all about GoT for me (not Game of Thrones)!

I do wish the samurai games were pretty much always 1 hit kill type games. A sword slice across the face should always kill you.

Aside from some of the animation when say using the grappling hook and climbing, and maybe some of the intro/exit animations when fighting, I thought it looked pretty great too. I'd definitely need to see more of the gameplay, but I didn't see anything that would put me off the game anyway. The duel at the end in particular looked stunning. A few of those dotted throughout the game would be fantastic.

It should, but not all slices were across the face. Those armours were designed to take a slash and parry it off, so I don't mind that, but any hit to the face should result in a 1 hit kill.

Just give me a new Tenchu already!
