Where are the best garden centres in and around the city? Preferably a dedicated garden centre, to find the awkward gardening things :)

Depends on what you’re looking for really.

In terms of seeds/seedlings for vegetable gardens, the place in Ellen St is the best.

Furniture, tools, paving stones etc I’d try B&Q or one of the other chains.

I think there's an independent one still going near Barry's cross out in Ardnacrusha.

Moloneys in Ardnacrusha have a lovely range.

I don't think Van Veens are open any more.

And Busy Bees is lovely too. They also have a really nice coffee shop.

There is also a nice garden centre near Roadstone in Gooig.

If you are looking for paving stones etc, there is an excellent company in Roscrea who quarry their own stone and deliver to Limerick. https://www.wesellstone.com/

    Awesome, thanks!
I knew of the one in town, and when I went looking for van veen's recently I couldn't figure out where they were.
Will be hunting down fancy compost and containers soon! thanks!

If you’re looking for compost, got some great compost out in Mungret Recycling centre.

Paid the €5 to get in (had stuff to recycle) and came away with bags of compost.

Woodies and Homebase both have excellent garden departments.

The a Range has a gardening department too AFAIK. Dunno how good it is but you might get a bargain on something out there.
