GIRO stage 10: Penne – Gualdo Tadino 239 km

Long drawn out today, way to restart a GT after a rest day. 239km of the usual lumpy bumpy Italian type, a day for the breakaway possibly???

Technical Overview:
The longest stage of the race comes after a race day, and it seems made with the breakaway in mind. It starts with a pretty serious climb right off the bat, Fonte della Creva (GPM2, 15.7 km at 5.8%), followed closely by another short climb, Bruzzolana (GPM3, 6.2 km at 5.7%). After this great start, however, the route relaxes quite a lot, going through small valleys without tackling any other serious climb. The only other difficulty of the day is the climb to Annifo (GPM4, 14 km at 2%), which is just a long false flat with one decent ramp at the very top. Considering it is at 30 km to go, it should be irrelevant.The finish is flat but very tricky, with two dangerous looking turns in the last km, so in case of a full peloton sprinting that would be the most serious issue.

just means yates will have another 5 riders pulling for him tomorrow. be interesting to see if chaves digs in for the team for the rest of the race

I'm in and out but think I heard them say sky put the heat on and flew of. Vivianni got dumped out aswell

UAE mentioned early from what I saw, but pretty much every other GC team.

Sky (including Froome at the front of the bunch), Lotto Jumbo, Bora and I think FDJ to some extent from what I saw.

Nearly 8 minutes now , Sunday bike ride stuff in the second bunch now. Gutted for Chaves he's a likeable fella.

Dropped on the early cat 2 climb - cyclingnews ticker said Matt White said allergies were the issue*.

*I think I read that Greg Lemond was allergic to a specific pollen only found in Italy in May, and that was the reason he never really performed at the Giro.
