    CP and/or PUC?

    I don't think they'd do both....
    What's the capacity in puc?

Ya but Ed sheeran Played three nights last summer so surely there is two more nights left to fill this summer.

Pairc Ui Chaoimh won't necessarily host 3 gigs a summer. Peter Aiken said as much around the time of the Sheeran gigs. Said that while they want gigs as often as possible, not everyone has the appeal to sell out Cork, especially as it will usually be alongside a Dublin show.

Would suggest that what is also worth noting is that a lot of the big outdoor shows will be MCD so Aiken won't have access, which could rule some out there too.

That said, wouldn't be surprised to see 2/3 gigs there again next year but could just as easily be just the 1 next year and then 3/4 the year after. I don't think the stadium is as bound to limits as Croke Park, just the logistics of getting an act to Cork who would sell enough to make a profit.

But surely the Cork County Board, would be in favor of more Concerts to pay for the renovations, to b3 honest I think put a big artist in pairc ui chaoimg and it will sell out just like Dublin. People from all Munster would go.

Yeah but the County Board aren't organising the concerts, Aiken is. If he can't make the money back, he won't put on a show. It an act is signed to MCD, Aiken can't sign them up. All the County Board do is cash their cheque from the venue hire.

Why can’t McD bring an act to Pairc ui chaoimh, is there just a contract between Aiken and Pairc ui chaoimh/live at the marquee?

    Aiken has the contract.

LATM is an Aiken venture and has been since day one. They've also got the contract for PUC. Aiken spent a good bit of time in Cork last summer on radio, etc talking about future plans for it on the back of the Sheeran gigs.

Thanks for explaining it all. It’s a pity the venues are restricted to the contract.

I was thinking that, but they already sold out the RDS (40k?) this summer, albeit with a good support bill.
Malahide is apparently 20k, so they'd presumably easily sell that out if they chose to play there.

can't imagine calling a press conference for RDS/Malahide tbh

Yeah there's a chance they'll announce all at once or just one with the knowledge that more are already booked.
