It seems to have steadily deteriorated after the snow. I'm wondering if it's irrecoverable?

It seems fine to me. It has just gotten a bit of a setback from the severe weather but it seems to be sending up strong new leaves at the top. You can trim off any damaged/unsightly leaves and otherwise just treat it as normal.
