RTE says car wasnt stolen- so like others here I am wondering why the hell they dont release the identity of who was driving it?!

The poor girl and her family. I hope she is found safe and well. The abductor would have family, friends and neighbours who would recognise the reg. They should release his name. Every hour that goes by is critical.

I doubt Larry Murphy would have the funds to purchase a 17 reg car. I don’t think there would be much demand for his carpentry services in Ireland. The Gardai in their statement said the owner of the car so I assume it is not rented.

the driver could be any family member, company fleet etc.

Also if it goes to court , it could collapse as jury will have heard the name and made their mind up

if these are Gardai generated figures, then i would approach them with extreme caution.
quite frankly i wouldn't trust them to record a phone call.

My first thought was that he was. Guards don't pull (and certainly not use) their weapons lightly.
