I am buying a new TV, and would like (the husband) to be able to watch whatever he wants without disturbing me

We have some great Bose QC35 headphones, can anyone recommend a decent transmitter with little to no lag?

Have one myself and bought another for my folks. You can switch between Xmt/Rcv, has optical IO and low latency works fine (once your cans support it) so no issues with lipsync . Great little piece of kit.

If you search on the cans you will see essentially 2 options, 1 the full package of those and the receiver or 2 just the cans. If you don't already have option 1 ignore 2. You need the receiver (it is a full mini HD audio receiver to wifi xmitter), any option that includes just the cans is an accesory that only works with the Japan model (where the receiver can pair with 2 headsets), it will NOT work with the EU receiver. Audio quality is great for surround (not Audiophile for music but immersive Boom-boom - 10/10). As an audiophile, and movie enthusiast these are an excellent and easy to use compromise for marital bliss.
But, be warned the receiver does not handle newere 4k formats, so 4k@60Khz, ot HDR won't work with passthrough. Better to (and as I have done) use a good splitter. So for general use your TV's ACR HDMI to the receiver (|TV input). Then your dedicated HD-Audio (e.g. pure bluray player) to the splitter. As an example I have my TV's ACR connected to the receiver's Input 4, no device on the other end. My Panasonic DMP-UB400EBK audio HDMI is on HDMI-1 on the receiver. When I want the best experiene I play through the panasonic and the whole chain understands HD audio without mitigating true UHD. When I'm watching TV or Netlix/Amazon/TV-App output I have at least DDPlus (7.1 16/44 lossy not as good as HD but decent).
