Depends which Villa turns up, the team that comfortably beat Wolves or the one lost to QPR at home and Bolton away.

I think it will be a close game Fulham are good to watch and have Had a great run in the 2nd half of the championship this year. They should really have gone up automatically but lost to B’ham last day of the season.

Key players for us I think are Grealish and Snodgrass but there is a lot of experience in the team. For Fulham Mitrovich Cairney and Sessegnon have all had good seasons.

As an aside it is 36 years to the day since we won the European Cup.

Villa are a generous 23/10 to win the game. Fingers crossed that experience shines through.

Come on Villa. Lived in Brum for almost 4 years. Went to a few games at the Villa, always a fantastic atmosphere.

should be a cracking game - pity both didn't go up - rather than Warnocks leg-breakers

I will be in attendance. Unfortunately I won’t be much use as my voice is gone from shouting abuse in Dalymount last night.

    Villa will do it, IMO.

Probably make or break time for them now too with the amount they’ve spent since relegation and the size of their wage bill.

Only in terms of FFP. Xia appears to be willing to fund it as much as is necessary to get back to the Premier League.

Made a profit this season and about 35 million net the season before without including loan fees.
    Wages would be big alright,.

    That's superb from Sessegnon.

    What a talent he is.

Fulham 1 up. What a great ball from Sessegnon to Cairney!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,725 ✭✭✭✭blueser

Fulham are by far the better footballing side. Seen nothing from Villa.

    Yet.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,710 ✭✭✭✭Paully D

Adomah is getting in behind every single time.

That will pay off sooner or later if Fulham don't get it sorted.

Superb player, only 18 as well.

    Quality assist from Sessegnon.

We’ve set up like a League 2 side visiting the Etihad. Embarrassing so far.

Hoping Villa win this. Be interesting to see Grealish in the PL. Hourihane aswell.

Although JT captaining them nearly makes me go with Fulham.

    Fredricks should be off

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,710 ✭✭✭✭Paully D

    Nailed on red card, that.

Fredericks is very lucky, and so is Grealish that that didn't do any damage.

That’s a blatant red card. What a dirtbag.

    Dirty B

What a chance blown by Grealish. He has to be scoring that.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,014 ✭✭✭✭Corholio

Hutton getting caught out of position too often.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,043 ✭✭✭remoteboy

Think it’s all caught up with Hutton. He looks out of his depth against these lads.

Looking like JT playing will make the tie go with Fulham...

    Villas defence is awful today.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 33,661 ✭✭✭✭CSF

I’m not making an excuse for our performance here, but why haven’t the rules applied to Fulham at any stage?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,043 ✭✭✭remoteboy

    Villas defence is awful today.

And our midfield. And our attack.

Very difficult, would have been spectacular.

    Cairney is a lovely footballer.

Jesus I badly overestimated Villa. Granted they are an old team but I thought that experience was helping them since they made it this far but Terry and Hutton look so out of depth....

The stamp they got away with?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,043 ✭✭✭remoteboy

This is a killer. Fulham are a lovely team to watch and would love to see them in the Prem. just not at our expense. We’re far too tentative. Happy to sit back. Not pressing their keeper to try and force things. Hopefully JT and Bruce can gee them up for the next 45. Still only 1-0. UTV.

    Lol, typo, meant Villa!

Caught between Villa get nothing / Fulham haunted. The stamp and pull back on Adomoah!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 33,661 ✭✭✭✭CSF

Every time I watch it I just get more annoyed. The 4th official right in front of it. These decisions change seasons.

A retrospective ban won’t change anything for us.

Villa really need to up the pace, don't know if they're able to though.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,710 ✭✭✭✭Paully D

    Shocking challenge.

How has grealish not scored in this game. Great dribble

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,725 ✭✭✭✭blueser

Grealish should be gone. Dreadful challenge.

Should be off...bottle job from the ref.

Thought Mitrovic should have had a booking for piling in.

Hourihane saved Grealish there. Penalty could have been given but it would have been harsh.

He gets kicked around and stamped on and not a peep. He gives one back and this is the reaction. Clearly he is playing against a rigged deck here.
