Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Hi, I am preparing my art portfolio and getting ready for my interview coming up with NCAD in Dubin to get an advanced transfer into the "fine art or design and education". I am passionate about being a secondary school art teacher.

Does anyone have any advise as I feel the portfolio guidelines are quite vague.

Any advise i'm hugely thankful for :)

Many many many years ago I put my portfolio together and included one piece in it (I think it was an album cover design) that wasn't the same standard as the rest of my work - I'd hummed and hawed over including it, but decided to keep it for diversity. Big mistake as the interviewer went straight to it in a kind of "this is why we're not offering you a place" way. 😳
I'm sure an art teacher on here can give more advice, but I would just say only include work you are really proud of! Best of luck!!

Hey I have my interview with NCAD next week for the PME. I am the same, the portfolio is broad so I don't know where to start with it. It asks for sketchbooks, development of ideas and teaching work if you have it along with photos of 3D work. Narrowing it down to approximately 10 pieces will be difficult. Do you have to do a drawing exam also?

yes a drawing exam of still like object too, but we prep that before hand :). Yes 10 is hard. But that includes prep work too right? within the portfolio... actually sketchbooks are separate to these 10 pieces? Best of look with your PME interview! :)
