    Hi.
My direct debit was returned unpaid and now there is a security deposit request of 300 on my account. If my direct debit is re set up, will this security deposit be removed?

    Thanks
    Jane

    Hi Jane,

    Thanks for your message.

Yes, if the Direct Debit is added to the account again then the requirement for the security deposit would be removed from the Electric Ireland account.

Customers can add Direct Debit details to an account online here, or over the phone with a member of the dedicated Electric Ireland Customer Service team. They can be called on 1850 372 372, from 8am to 8pm, Monday to Saturday.

We hope this helps. If you have any other questions, please let us know.

    Thanks,
    Brige
