Hi. I have an Abbey propeller agitator bought new possibly in the 90's but rarely used . Decided to sell it only to discover that there are a couple of holes rusted through in the propeller. It would be possible to weld plates to cover the holes as the rest of the metal is fine. My questions . Would it be possible to buy a new propeller and if so would the cost be prohibitive . Is there still a market for this type of agitator . I might ring Abbey tomorrow but in the meantime would appreciate feedback . Thanks

You are probably better off phoning Abbey. I would not recommend welding the propeller as it will unbalance it and it will vibrate like hell until it wrecks bearings and gearbox.
BTW does your Abbey have a forward and reverse gearbox.

Have a m8 who put the propeller of a boat on his roughly the same size was phosphorus bronze so no more rust.
Must ask where he got it.

Yep came of a boat around €150.
