Anybody know what's going on with the repairs to Poulaphuca bridge?

I know the parapet got hit and suffered some damage. It's over a month since the barriers were put up but no work seems to have taken place. Anybody any idea when it is going to be repaired?

A lot of people have been asking the same question, but I've not heard any updates. The barriers have been there, as you say, for over a month and no work seems to have been done.

AA report that it will be there until at least 1 June, but I can't see it being finished ( or even started) by then judging by what we've seen so far!

I wonder are Kilcare Co. Co. and Wicklow Co. Co. arguing over who should repair the bridge? Or would it be the National Roads Authority who would be responsible?

I honestly don't know which it would fall under as that area tends to be a little bit of a no man's land at times.

Given that it's such an old structure, it may be the case that they need a conservationist to look at it and specialised architects, masons, etc. to repair it.
