Think I read somewhere it's this week or next but I'd imagine it will be soon enough.
As a result of losing the match against cork think we got the "easier" side but to be honest the league for a competition that was competitive with the new championship format teams aren't really bothered with it.
Hopefully we will see some new faces and a few bright sparks especially in attack. Its great to see adrian mullen continuing his good form.Hopefully darren gets a good run in the league.

Club before County always.....the day club players do otherwise is the day
    the whole hurling structures collapse.

Would a Village win not have the same dilemma for Kilkenny, with Scanlon, Brassil, Browne etc

Not the same quality of players. Sorry just being honest

Agreed, Ballyhale produce a special type of hurler. I think Eoin Cody and Paddy Mullen will be called into the Kilkenny extended panel too

Serious depression over there years, to the point of of being suicidal. There's an extract from the book in the indo about 2016. Says Cody all but saved his life after a club game with a phone call. It's heavy stuff, well worth a read though.

Fair play to him, can't be easy revealing all that to the public. It'll help people with similar problems to seek treatment. A tough and brave man on the field and off it.

This is very sobering. There's not many players who've had a more fruitful hurling career than him, who'd ever guess he had such struggles.

The entire book should be a good read.

Bar the goal, Cody was practically anonymous against OLG.

Against clara he was quite enough also.Theres no guarantees his going to make it but he is someone I'd like to see brought in and given time. The shamrocks are lucky that usually one of the 6 fowards steps up in different matches.

Looking foward to the two matches Sunday hope it's a fine day.Great value €15.Tullaron go into this one as underdogs so maybe this will help them they have a bad record over the last few years.Tommy is flying it at full foward.Mossy had a good second half against young irelands and shane walsh on his day is very dangerous.Unfortunatley for thomastown they look to be down tucker and daithi Barron both dangerous fowards.Stalwards John joe and dessie walsh are great leaders and they have 6 good scoring fowards.Freshford offered very little in the second half so I wouldn't get carried away. Both teams will need to improve but the two best teams are in the final and hopefully be a cracker.Thomastown look like a coming team.
Village not given much of a chance in the bookies but I think they will give a good account of themselves and they wont fear the shamrocks. Its a young team mixed with experience but most of these contested the final 2 years ago.Larks move to 6 and a sweeper role has given him a new lease of life. His distribution into the lively fowards could cause the shamrocks defence trouble.Cheddars finger prints can be seen but there learning the system and improving every game.It will be intresting to see how the shamrocks fare out against the sweeper.hennesy will probably pick up TJ but we know the shamrocks have stars all over the place and with fennelly back at 6 its hard to back against them.Joey and darren mullen also hurling great stuff.Richie reid going on army duty with paul Murphy soon so he will miss the next few months if they win.
Maybe tiredness might creep in they've being on the road two years and throw in a hectic inter county season.Clara if they were more accurate had them in big trouble but infairness they dont panic and have different leaders to stand up.Hopefully we get two good matches.Best of luck to the 4 teams and officials.

The weather should be great for the matches... I'm looking forward to them

  • Registered Users Posts: 345 ✭✭droppingball

Should be two belters in the park today, hopefully a crisp dry day would help. Conditions under foot will be soft so forwards may have to work harder for scores.

Some great battles on both sides, donnely on padraig walsh, tommy walsh on robbie donnelly, larks on tj, jackie on colin and also how the village bypass mick fennelly, intriguing.

Pity about the few injuries on both teams for the intermediates. Hopefully the crowd will hit the 10k mark and the matches are competitive.

Deserved win for Tullaroan. 1-2 for Tommy Walsh in the last 10 minutes, absolute warrior.

Would've paid the 15 euro for Shane Walsh speech alone. Well done Tullaroan

Delighted to hear Tommy got to win it and go back senior.

Senior match is great so far, gaago deserve a lot of credit for starting to show the club matches, even showing the deferred match live now. Shamrocks were well on top in the first half but didn't pull away, village looking way more fired up now

An exhibition of forward play by Shamrocks.

Thought the vision of both Adrian mullen and eoin Cody were excellent given there youth, I also think Cody is a goal getter doesn't always hit the heights but knows where the net is that wins games the future looks bright for the county

Goals were the difference as Tullaroan beat Thomastown on a scoreline of 3-18 to 0-21. Two first half goals from Peter Walsh gave Tullaroan a 4 point lead at half time and a Tommy Walsh goal sealed victory. John Walton scored 4 points from midfield. Robbie Donnelly scored 12 points from frees with Stephen and John Donnelly getting 7 points between them. Jonjo Farrell was quiet, Tommy Walsh of the Village doing well. Mossy Keoghan battled hard but is more a forager than a finisher. Thomastown are a young team and will be back. Tommy Walsh was even more emotional than after any of his All Ireland's

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,959 ✭✭✭blackcard

Ballyhale were easily the better team as they beat James Stephen's by 2-21 to 1-15. Tadhg O'Dwyer scored a well taken goal in the first couple of minutes but Brian Cody replied with a goal and the Shamrocks never looked back. They scored 1-10 from play in the first half to lead by 5. When Eoin Cody goaled after being superbly set up by Colin Fennelly and TJ Reid, it was game over. Shamrocks could afford to hit 14 wides including 7 from TJ. Adrian Mullen impressed, Colin Fennelly tacked on 3 points
Cian Kenny looks a prospect for a few years time. Luke Scanlon quiet

Jesus lads the interview with Tommy Welsh was powerful. Did he play well. 36 years of age

  • Registered Users Posts: 345 ✭✭droppingball

Disappointed thomastown man tonight but wouldn't begrudge tullaroan their win as they have been through a few tough losses. Happy for tommy as he really deserves it. Tullaroan were certainly the better team and led from start to finish. Their running caused us all sorts of problems.

Solace for us tonight is the age profile of our team and the fact we have a few more to come through. Stephen Donnelly really wtood up for us today. We will get Tucker hanrahan and daithi barron back and the forwards will be stronger for it.

Best of luck to tullaroan in the leinster club and I have no doubt they will be a solid senior team.

Delighted for him, thought he was poor enough to be taken off for first 40 but won it for them in the last 20, what a legend.

Congratulations to both winners today.Thomastown have a young team and their day should come.Tullaron full back line deserve credit nullifying thomastown full foward line. Its great for tommy to get them back up.Wouldnt it be great to see him back in croker with tullaron.maybe the underdogs tag suited them but goals win matches.Davey buggy was a good influence this year I was told.Thomastown can have no real complaints.
The second match failed to really get going.Ballyhale could of won by alot more. Its a joy watching them in full flow.Theres no one greedy looking for their own scores always played to a lad is in a better position.Richie Reid will be a loss for them in the club but they have a good panel.its a credit to management had the shamrocks so fresh looking.they also got it tactically right colin out around the half foward line.Cuala v shamrocks would be a good leinster final.
Finally near ten thousand today was a very healthy crowd.Nearly double than different counties attendance. They got it spot on with the pricing so the county board deserves credit for that.

Shamrocks patience on the ball and creation of space and ability to find each other is something else. Colin looked happier out the field running at goal as opposed to being inside.

Thought jackie was well of the pace. He was probably prepared for wrestling match with Colin and it never came. Who do the shamrocks have in leinster?

Tommy was never the fastest and his legs are gone for a few years. A few balls went in his general direction today and the full back was 5 yards ahead of him. But he kept putting his body on the line and ended up scoring 1-2. Scored 4 points in the semi final including a sideline cut. He collapsed onto the ground after the full time whistle today and started hitting the ground in ecstasy. Proceeded to hug about a hundred people including the referee. A true legend and my all time favourite player
