Closed from today for a month seemingly between Boroimhe and Swords.

Yet more carnage on the R132 because of this. Any idea what's being done?

New water mains being fitted. Hopefully road closed at this point for the last time.
Mains being replaced all along that road and through the village too.

Yep unfortunately the only alternative is to keep putting up with burst/leaking pipes and intermittent road closures while they try fix the problem every few months. Its painful but you have to try look past that to a hopefully permanent fix to the problem.

After decades of trouble with that water main, the disruption will definitely be worth it in the end :D

Hopefully, you'd be sick of the almost constant water cutoffs, traffic disruption etc. And it's only a couple of years since the water main along the R132 & Dublin rd was upgraded causing big disruption too.
