    What are Firmino owners doing?

I was all set to jump off him but a goal and 2 assists in the first 4 games is not a bad return.

He also should have scored against Brighton and would have had an assist only for an easy Salah miss against Leicester.

That said, he will drop in price over the break.

    Tough one.

I sold him but I'm always fairly keen on a 1 premium and 2 cheap striker strategy. Last year it wasn't viable but I feel this year it is with ings, mitrovic and Wilson viable options. I think he will tick away nicely but he does seem deeper than last year. I also think there is a bit of a chance he doesn't start the spurs game as he plays for Brazil on the wed morning. Happy to have aguero ings Wilson now with extra money to put into midfield.

Yea gota get on the big defender train, I've had it since the start and it's been the biz!

Ended up wildcarding this week with Walcott Injury and Mkhitaryan benched + got rid of some fodder then ended up bringing in the lads who are rising so here we are. Buys me some time to think about Haz in for Salah ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Who has the nerve to drop Salah for Haz? Not sure I'll end up doing it, but for now, Haz is in to maybe make a few pennies

    This weeks overall transfers -

Salah is the third most sold player so far.

Hazard is the sixth most bought player so far.

Is it really worth going all in on 3 premium defenders? That's what I'm currently doing on wildcard but something in the back of my mind is telling me it's not worth it. Certainly historically I would always have had 2 premium strikers. Why should it be any different this season? Surely Alonso, Robertson, Mendy and to a lesser extent Trippier returns are unsustainable and you'd be better off with 1/2 and a second premium striker?
ARM are 3 of the top 6 scorers in the league. If 3 of the top 6 strikers/midfielders were costing you 6.5 would you sign them?

    So you Have

    ???
    Mendy Alonso Robertson
    Salah Mane Hazard ??? ???
    Aguero

I'm on Wildcard and tried to fill in the blanks and I got

    McCarthy(Or any 4.5)
    Alonso Mendy Robertson,Wan B
    Salah,Maddison,Mane,Hazard,Hojbjerg
    Aguero

    Bench of Hamer,Kamara,Joselu,Bennett

With a remaining 0.2 ITB. What's your full team? You must have really good team value?

out of curiosity I just looked if I could fit them all in & the team I came up with was:

    4.5m (4m)
    Alonso, Mendy, Robertson (WanBis, 4m)
    Salah, Mane, Hazard, Neves (4.5)
    Aguero, Ings, Jimenez

doable a few ways but your 10th & 11th best players wont be very good

Very doable, the blanks you have there could all be starters too, albeit not great.

The conundrum is Salah, Hazard, Ageuro and Kane (not Mane)... a tougher one to crack.

lunch time fun... had to "downgrade" Robertson to TAA to have any chance of making it work... best I could do in 10mins

    4.5m (4m)
    Alonso, Mendy, TAA, Cedric, WanBis
    Salah, Hazard, Neves (4.5m, 4.4m)
    Aguero, Kane (4.5m)

for value/decent starters i'd to go 5 atb, bench is very questionable. requires Kamara or a 4.5mid to slot in if needed

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,324 ✭✭✭✭PARlance

Quarner is 4.4 now... no need for that extra 0.1 as 3rd striker Kenneth

the .1 could be used to upgrade cedric to a 4.5 defender but I think i'd prefer cedric & Kamara to a 4.5 def & quarner (will he get on the pitch?). just for some bit of comfort that if the bench player is needed he might at least get a point

*I only did this out of interest, i'm not going to WC just yet. pretty happy with my start

International break is a pain. It’s just gives more time to think bout what ya will do and ultimately the wrong decision probably!

It's 5 fixtures in one gameweek. I wouldn't be changing your team around it

Absolutely, but It's made me consider Vardy more. Given his fixtures anyway and and now the liklihood of a pen.

He has a fairly terrible peno record iirc.

Well he has missed 3 in recent years for certain: City, Pool and Everton.

And his England manager didn't see fit to give him a penalty in the World Cup vs Colombia despite him being a late sub.

I'll rephrase it, he takes a terrible penalty.

For certain? What is the one he missed against City? Don't recall that at all - Unless it was in a shootout? He scored a pen on them last season though

I think he's got the best technique for a pen. Smash it.

Worst technique for me is a Benteke/Aguero roll it in type.

Is it WC like VAR or something more similar to last seasons VAR trials?

I think it is similar to last seasons VAR trials, as the VAR team in the hub actually have no contact with the ref

Yeah VAR will have absolutely no impact on games so wouldn't let it effect your decision making whatsoever.
