Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Ricardo Rodríguez as the rotation left back wouldn't be bad.

Gone backwards the last couple of years from what I have seen

Reckon there'll be a few German players on the cheap this summer

He got about as much chance at Leicester as mo did at Chelsea it needs to be said though.

Agree. He's a very good player, have been following him for a good few years

Already very excited to see Keita play, think he will be a big player for us.

Didn't watch the interview (find them all very tedious and too prepped and planned) but I was kind of hoping to see him speak in English. Afterall, he have a year to prepare. it's just a minor detail though and me nit-picking. Just thought it will help us on the field. Now of course it could just be he is not comfortable enough to do an interview in English which is totally acceptable.

I always find that dissapointing myself.

Marca are now reporting that we are going to make a bid for Asenio.

That's now both the Barca and Madrid mouthpiece papers reporting it.

It really is a strange one.

I wonder did we just inquire about him to kick all this rumor stuff off.

Learning a language isn't that easy. Look at David Beckham he spent several years in Spain and at the end of it still couldn't speak English.

Bale is the same he can't even order a meal and has made no effort to learn the language and he admits that himself and he's 5 years over there now.

tbh I was always terrible at languages but you'd think if they're being paid all that money and let's face it what do they do all day, they could make some effort at the language.

    lol

I've spent 4 or 5 of the last 18 months in various parts of Germany and Austria and haven't learned a word of German. Zero interest :)

I thought that that one of the ways he had endeared himself was he tried something in Spanish from the start.

Most of the last nine years here, same. It;s too easy when everyone speaks English and as you say - you get lazy.

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

Don't get this myself as speaking a language at some level just makes life easier and nicer whilst you are there.

    All comes down to attitude.

At the risk of a sweeping generalisation though, when I lived abroad I found it was normally British people (not always) who didn't bother trying to pick up a language and the Irish more open to it.

From a footballing point of view it makes sense to speak the lingo for team talks, bonding, interviews etc.

They would have access to the best teachers and could be speaking at conversational level within a few months if they bothered their arses.

Most Irish people can't be bothered to even learn their own language.

Because it's badly taught in schools here (along with other languages).

Was shocked when I learned Dutch that my course was all speaking (nothing in English)and you picked it up fast.

This thread clearly needs a Liverpool game or serious transfer rumour.:P

Very true, lived in Spain for 4yrs and my Spanish comprehension is ok but when I'm jarred it's exceptional, ;)
Went on a stag in Dingle a couple of months ago and my Irish after 14yrs to honours LC level was bloody atrocious.

So much supposition from one brief interview.

Immersion really is a great learning technique.

I know quite a few lads who were members of a Marxist socialist republican faction who were in prison during 80's and 90's who speak fluent russian now thanks to the russki version of the BBC world service and Pravda.

Never been impressed with Allison in games I have seen him

    Don't see how he's worth £70m plus.

Same here, only seen him 4/5 times but he looks awful, flapping like a man concussed!
Could just be the games I've seen him in but if mignolet is a £10/15m keeper then Allison doesn't look worth much more.

Oblak is worth that kind of money. Can see why the club won't pay that for Allison though. I'm sure he's good but he doesn't look that good.

Keith Andrews, with the big 1950's head on him, is a decent pundit - heard him on some US streams last season doing commentary and he was good - time for some retirements in RTE to let the younger, less grumpy, pundits to come through...

Anyone ahead of Sadlier. I just can’t seem to warm to him, and it’s like he tries too hard to be controversial. RTÉ are pushing him towards the senior analyst role also.
    Where has Kenny Cunningham gone?

Great to see. Salah is a fantastic role model for the religion of Islam.

Also Keita along with Mane and Salah will do wonders for the club in recruiting more fans from Africa.

That's gas. I saw his ceann on the tv earlier and said to my mates that he looks like he was pulled in from a bush during the 1950's :D

We'll have the league wrapped up by then, be grand. We won't win the CL next season, we'll do that the following year.

This Ramadan lark happens every year, I'm sure footballers know how to operate it in tandem with their careers. Gets 10 days earlier each year.

Keita also said that Mane is like a brother to him, they spent a season together at Salsburg and were best friends. So that's going to be a cracking partnership.
Likewise Fab and Firm...(how I refer to my johnson)

Luckily it gets dark earlier as it comes forward too (for the next decade or so).
