Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Sturridge will eventually get a goal here, him and Naby seem to be developing a little understanding...

That Kelleher kid came on for Karius there...

    Kelleher on for Karius

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32,038 ✭✭✭✭~Rebel~

Good hour from Karius to be honest. Not too much to do in goal, but great distribution.

Great to have a Corkman on the pitch now!

Caoimhin Kelleher now on for last half hour

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,397 ✭✭✭✭Turtyturd

    Keita's through balls are huge.

and again, and twice Sturridge has failed to take advantage.

Was about to say that he’s looked a step above in the pre season walking pace, and hopefully some foolish managers with money in their pocket were watching...then he misses from 6 yards out.

Markovic with a lovely finish. Storrage with the well weighted assist.

(only two more goals to go! :D)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,580 ✭✭✭✭Riesen_Meal

    Well that was unlikely... :D

Who said Markovic hat trick earlier?

Would've expected him to score the chance a few minutes before as well.

It's a funny one, we watch this as a non-event match really, but these moments are probably close to a career highlight for that kid so far. Senior team, behind VVD, Robertson, Keita, Fabinho etc.

Good goal from Marko.. he's looked pretty good I think actually. But I suppose we've always known his issues are mentality rather than ability.

I said I wouldn't let myself get too excited but this Alisson signing has tipped the balance for me

To a youngster it is never a non event if you can play with Ward now going he is now up a rung in the ladder and I do not think both Karius & Mignolet will stay

I wonder if they're planning on moving Sturridge back. Maybe slot him in as a number 10

He usually wanders back to 8 / 10 ish positions normally anyway.

Naby Keita is so good even Sturridge finally scored.

    Knew he would score eventually...

    Baby Keith with the assist...

    Current score?

Great bit of play from Keita again, and lovely finish from Studge.

    Indeed, a tap in.

Dare I say it but Sturridge has looked much fitter/stronger. Why does he get my hopes up every preseason to crush them two weeks into the season with another injury :(

Jones definitely doesn't play like a 17 year old. Very impressive in all the preseason games so far this season.

Sturridge looks very built never remember him like that. What a player to have off the bench if he could manage half the games even.

First look at keita, me likey

Wouldn't have quite said that... it wasn't necessarily a tough chance, but the way he sorted his feet out to slip it around the keeper was a nice little touch of composure and class.

But he was there to tap it in. Give some credit.

I remember Andy Carroll never being in the box for stuff like that.

Camacho and Jones have both been excellent this pre-season. Obviously I'd like to back reference my foresight with Jones who I liked the look of the first game I saw him v Leicester in the U18s as a 16 year old but Camacho has taken me by surprise.

Interesting to see how he links up with our actual forwards.

Putting too much stock into one match but Sturridge and Markovic are looking very sharp

The boss looks happy with the signing anyway :-)

Was just thinking about that! He'll love Firmino's movement/one-two returns in particular I think.

Nabby looking head and shoulders the best player on the pitch.

Baby Keith/Nabby was terrific, such immediate ball control and rapid thinking as to what to do with same. Either attack space or play the pass, no messing about wondering where to put it. As a transition player he'll be awesome against the big teams in Europe and the likes of Arsenal, City but also able to pick the lock v pack defences.

They haven't confirmed where his new adventure is.

He could have signed for Chelsea

    Klopp:

"When the opportunity to sign one of the world’s best goalkeepers come up - then it’s not a long thought, to be honest, it’s only that you need to have a little talk with the owners! They were quite excited, so we did it."

    Alisson:

"I'm really happy, it's a dream come true to wear such a prestigious shirt for a club of this size that is used to always winning. You can be certain that I'll give my all."

*Cracking summer from the club. Three weeks before the window closes and we looked to have strengthened seriously. If anyone else comes in it's just added bonus territory. Best and most ambitious 12 months I've ever seen from the club.

    Robertson
    Ox
    Salah
    VVD
    Keita
    Fabinho
    Shaqiri
    Alisson

Three weeks can't come quick enough.

*As long as there are no major outs but I don't think there will be.

Massive signing and a real statement of intent.

Could it Karius to the title?

    James Horncastle on TAW:
    "He's a phenomenal goalkeeper." 🇧🇷

"Liverpool aren't only upgrading, they're getting as good a goalkeeper as they could possibly have imagined they'd get."
