    Lovely counter by Arsenal

Should put them to the sword now

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

Tierney causing Rosenborg plenty of problems.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,856 ✭✭✭irishguitarlad

All over olympiakos. Joaquín playing great. Two wing backs need to improve their crossing.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,630 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Nice Guy

Laimer has pulled one back for Leipzig - hits it through the keeper's legs and off the post.

Update: And Leipzig equalise! Poulsen with a strong header.

    Leigh Griffiths scores for Celtic!

And as soon as I write that, substitute Gulbrandsen has scored for Salzburg who go back in the lead vs Leipzig! 3-2!

    Full-Time - Leipzig 2-3 Salzburg

Very enjoyable game. Salzburg were leading 2-0 at Half-Time, Leipzig pulled it back to 2-2 in the 82nd minute but the Austrians won it in the 89th minute. I think it's a fair result as Salzburg played well and Dabbur had also hit the post before Leipzig's comeback.

If you said to me before the Game a 0-0 in greece against olympiakos I would have taken it but the manner in which we dominated the game and that chance with Sergio León, It feels more like a loss.

I had to have a look there to see who you were talking about. How did you get into supporting Real Betis?

This is my fouth year living here in Seville and once I went to see the derby in my first year here, I was hooked. I had the season ticket last year, this year I didn't get It but I might pick It up when they put on re-sale the ones that the holders couldn't keep up their payments.

Salzburg vs Celtic looks the tastiest of the early fixtures to me.
SALZBURG XI: Walke; Lainer, Pongracic, Ramalho, Ulmer; Haidara, Samassu, Wolf, Schlager; Minamino, Dabbur

CELTIC XI: Gordon; Lustig, Boyata, Hendry, Tierney; Forrest, Mulumbu, Ntcham, McGregor; Griffiths, Edouard.

Salzburg are always fun to watch in the Europa League, with Lainer a very good RB and Haidara tough to deal with in midfield. Very talented striker in Dabbur as well. I fancy the Austrians to win by at least two goals. Gonna try to keep an eye on Rosenborg vs Leipzig too.

Great start for Celtic. Edouard with a composed finish to make it 1-0.

Have Betis and Dudelange on in the background.

Fairly open start so far, the visitors don't seem to be intimidated at all.

Augustin with a good finish to make it 1-0 Leipzig.

Same story with us all season, dominating the ball but no end product. I honestly think it's the forwards and their lack of movement as inui and Boudebouz and Joaquín on the bench are well capable of creating chances.

    Chris Sutton commentating on the Salzburg/Celtic game;
"If that second Celtic goal had gone in, Rod (Stewart) would have burst into song".

Thank fcuk it didn't go in!

I see Milan are a goal down at home to Olympiakos.

Update: Konate makes it 2-0 Leipzig.

    Dabbur equalises for Salzburg.

Update: Leipzig make it 3-0. Cunha following a Bruma assist. Rosenborg need to avoid this becoming an embarrassment.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,274 ✭✭✭HalloweenJack

Betis have been better since the break by playing with more urgency and take the lead in scrappy fashion: a header that bounces down off the crossbar and just about crosses the line.

They had a similar effort ruled out a few minutes earlier for a foul on the keeper.

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,611 ✭✭✭✭ERG89

Credit to the Salzburg fan with the obvious UEFA Cup trophy replica.

Celtic imploding. 2 goals conceded in a few minutes.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,630 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Nice Guy

Salzburg lead 2-1. Minamino with a scrappy goal. Celtic have struggled this half.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,630 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Nice Guy

Pen to Salzburg and a red for Forrest.

Dabbur converts for his second. 3-1.

Update: Rosenborg have pulled one back. 3-1 in that game too.

Watching Eintracht Frankfurt vs Lazio on BT Sport ESPN and it's a great game so far. Frankfurt leading 2-1 and we've only had thirty minutes. Both sides looking to attack.

Update: Lazio down to ten men just before half-time as Basta gets a second yellow. Hard to see a way back for Lazio now.

3-1 Frankfurt: Cool dinked finish from Jovic.

Bad to worse for Lazio as Correa gets sent off. Down to 9 men now with a half an hour to go.

I can't wait for tomorrow, should be a great game. Wouldn't mind the fella leading the line for Milan leading the line for Betis!

Milan/Betis and Leipzig/Celtic look exciting from the early fixtures.

Marseille/Lazio looks the pick of the evening games.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,142 ✭✭✭jacool

Leipzig should be good for 2 or 3 goals anyway.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,191 ✭✭✭✭Shanotheslayer

Don't think I've watched a CL match this season, but saw the result of Napoli V PSG and that's a great result for Liverpool in a tough group.

Beat RSB and surely they're basically through. Be amazed if they don't qualify from here. Tough group to get out of all the same.

Team news for some of the eye-catching early games:
Sporting XI: Ribeiro; Ristovski, Coates, Andre Pinto, Acuna; Petrovic, Gudelj, Battaglia, Bruno Fernandes; Nani, Montero.

Arsenal XI: Leno; Lichtsteiner, Sokratis, Holding, Xhaka; Guendouzi, Elneny, Ramsey; Welbeck, Aubameyang, Mkhitaryan.
RB Leipzig XI: Mvogo; Klostermann, Orban, Upamecano, Saracchi; Sabitzer, Laimer, Kampl; Augustin, Cunha, Bruma.

Celtic XI: Gordon; Boyata, Simunovic, Gamboa, Tierney; McGregor, Christie, Morgan, Ntcham; Edouard, Kouassi.
AC Milan XI: Reina; Calabria, Zapata, Romagnoli, Laxalt; Biglia, Bonaventura, Bakayoko; Borini, Higuain, Castillejo.

Real Betis XI: Pau Lopez; Mandi, Bartra, Sidnei; Barragan, Lo Celso, William Carvalho, Canales, Junior; Sanabria, Sergio Leon.

Going to be very tough for Celtic to get something from this game. Leipzig have Poulsen and Werner on the bench too if needed.

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,611 ✭✭✭✭ERG89

Biglia and Bakayoko start to form their rubbish bin and trash combination.
Meanwhile Caldara is again on the bench so Zapata can start this time.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,630 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Nice Guy

Edouard very close to putting Celtic ahead after a good break.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,630 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Nice Guy

Betis lead thanks to Sanabria's tap in. Poor defending from Zapata.

Leipzig have also taken the lead after Cunha smashes it in. Kouassi didn't do great there.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,630 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Nice Guy

Bruma makes it 2-0 to Leipzig. Celtic in big trouble now. Again not clearing the cross properly.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,856 ✭✭✭irishguitarlad

That was not offside the Sergio León goal.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,630 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Nice Guy

Sanabria with a chance to make it two but his volley goes wide. Betis well on top.

Salzburg lead Rosenborg 1-0 thanks to their prolific striker Dabbur.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,630 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Nice Guy

Half-Time. I thought Milan were going to equalise through Higuain in the final moments but he couldn't finish. Nice bit of needle in this game as well. Betis deservedly lead and will fancy they should be more than a goal up.

Leipzig well on top against Celtic as well.

In other news, reports of clashes ahead of the Marseille vs Lazio game.

    https://twitter.com/goal/status/1055510204694097920

Seems there have been clashes between fans the past 24 hours and that Lazio fans awoke to find a severed pig's head left on the gates of their hotel. Some crow's heads were left as well apparently. There's an element within both of these fanbases that would be more interested in scraps than the actual game. I hope there's nothing crazy during the game later.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,337 ✭✭✭✭monkey9

I was switching between the two while mainly watching Leipzig V Celtic, but i'll stick with Milan - Betis for the second half.
