Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Haller hits the bar. Let off for Inter. Cedric did well.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,630 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Nice Guy

    Aubameyang scores for Arsenal.

And Jovic has scored for Eintracht.

    2-0 Arsenal. Maitland-Niles with a header.

    Rennes being overwhelmed.

    Rennes bamboozled by the offside

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

2-0 Arsenal, maybe an offside. More in it for the home side too, Rennes can't defend for toffee but that is hardly an accusation you could only throw at them these days.

Lacazette hasnt learned at all, could easily have been red.

There's a bit of needle between Arsenal and Rennes. Wouldn't be surprised if there's another red in this tie.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,630 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Nice Guy

Half-Time. Arsenal excellent at the start but have eased off since the second. Rennes coming into the game more but without really testing Cech. Lots of niggling fouls which have interrupted the flow. Thought Maitland-Niles and Kolasinac did well. Grenier anonymous in midfield for Rennes.

Eintracht outplaying Inter and unlucky not to have a two goal lead.

1-1 between Slavia Prague and Sevilla. The La Liga side heading out on away goals as it stands.

Closest Rennes have come as Niang hits the post.

Niang off the post, so close

Great tackle from Kolasinac to deny Sarr.

Aubameyang converts Kolasinac's great cross for 3-0.

Game over. Rennes had a decent spell without creating a whole lot.

A Rennes goal takes it to Extra-Time so worth Arsenal hunting for the fourth to make absolutely sure.

Inter look like they're heading out. A little over ten minutes to find two goals. Eintracht though looking more likely to score again.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,630 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Nice Guy

Jovic should have finished off Inter. Handanovic saves well. Jovic has been a menace all game.

Full-Time and Eintracht win 1-0. Inter are lucky it wasn't more than that. Jovic, Haller and Kostic caused lots of problems. Could well be a dark horse to win the competition.

    Arsenal through just about

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,630 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Nice Guy

Full-Time. 3-0 Arsenal (4-3 on aggregate). Deserved win for Emery's side. Aside from Niang's effort that hit the post I don't think Rennes offered enough in attack. Think Rennes can still take a lot of positives from their European campaign. Julien Stephan a coach to keep an eye on.

Benfica vs Dinamo Zagreb and Slavia Prague vs Sevilla going to Extra-Time.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,630 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Nice Guy

Goal for Sevilla in the 1st half of Extra-Time. Vazquez with a header. 3-2 Sevilla now. Slavia Prague need two goals.

    What a goal for Benfica!

    Mad game!

Dinamo Zagreb down to ten after Stojanovic gets booked and then has a whinge so the ref gives the second yellow.

And Grimaldo scores a beauty a minute later for Benfica. Zagreb now need two goals and they only have 10 men. Looks certain Benfica are through.

Tight decision in the Prague match too, their captain booked for a dive in the box - probably right call, but very close and could easily have gone the other way.. One of those where there was contact, but he'd positioned his foot to make sure there was. Manufactured, but you see them given, and couldn't complain too much if it was. Defender still stuck in the foot without any chance of winning the ball.

    GOAL FOR SLAVIA PRAGUE!

Holy ****, Slavia Prague have got the winner in the last minute!

A messy goalmouth scramble that went in through sheer force of will - Seville, kings of the Europa League, look out.

    Great game.

Full-Time and Sevilla crash out! 4-3 to Slavia Prague on the night and 6-5 on aggregate.

    Unbelievable upset.

Sevilla much like Inter, Bayern & Real this season ain't what they used to be.
Some of their "defending" was absolutely pathetic to watch.

Definitely. Only watched the et, but Slavia looked really dedicated to win the game, though.

They really pushed on and Sevilla looked tired.

I guess that's the difference between team having a chance of achieving something incredible and a team that came over to do the job.

Beauty of football at its best. Like a love story movie but just for men :)

Glad Slavia won through, it looked like game over at 3-2. There shouldn't be away goals in ET imo, seems unfair that one team gets an extra 30mins to score an away goal, far outweighs the benefit of having an extra 30 at home imo.

    Called it before Christmas.

See no reason to change my mind, although Eintracht's attack will cause problems for any team.

Arsenal line-up: Cech, Sokratis, Koscielny, Monreal, Maitland-Niles, Torreira, Ramsey, Kolasinac, Lacazette, Ozil, Aubameyang

As attacking as I've ever seen a team put out for a meaningful game...

Nice Arsenal team. Here's the Napoli line-up:
Meret; Hysaj, Maksimovic, Koulibaly, Mario Rui; Callejon, Allan, Fabian Ruiz, Zielinski; Insigne, Mertens.

Looks like there could be a few goals in this one. I'm thinking a 2-2 draw. Certainly looks the pick of the games tonight. I'll be keeping an eye on Benfica vs Eintracht too; a pity Sebastien Haller is out for that one.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,630 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Nice Guy

1-0 Arsenal. Ramsey stepping up once again.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,630 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Nice Guy

Disaster for Eintracht. Ndicka concedes a pen as last man and Premier League ref Anthony Taylor rightly gives him a straight red.

And Joao Felix converts the pen. 1-0 Benfica. 70 minutes to go in this game. Great chance for Benfica to take control of the tie.

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,611 ✭✭✭✭ERG89

So easy for Arsenal. Napoli have been a f**king mess so far.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,630 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Nice Guy

2-0 Arsenal. Torreira's strike deflects off Koulibaly. Great start for Arsenal. Napoli need to get their act together.

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,611 ✭✭✭✭ERG89

More worrying for Napoli than their bad defending is the passing which has been embarrassing for this level of football.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,630 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Nice Guy

10 man Eintracht have equalised. Luka Jovic continues his great season. Rebic did well in the build up.
