We'll done Napoli, would love to see them and Inter reach the last 16.

Allan one of the best in the world. Such a scrapper.

All over as it ends 1-1. This group is really fascinating. Whatever team drops into the Europa League likely to be the favourite to win the competition.

Spurs score a double-deflected winner from the head of Harry Kane. I suppose they were due a bit of luck, but that’s absolutely cruel on PSV.
Staggering the guff BT are churning out about the two Kane goals. A scuffed shot and a double deflection. But, a win's a win.

If he scored an own-goal at the death, they’d be crediting him with a hat-trick. :pac:

Pleased Malcom got a goal. Icardi showing his quality again.

You think Red Star could be favourites to win the Europa league?

I'm bitter and hence really enjoyed the fact that the cClub Brugge player who scored a brace that put Henry's Monaco out was named Hans.

    How good is Icardi ?
Surely a big Spanish or English side will have a go with him .

He comes with a lot of baggage and a nutcase wife/agent. Super striker though no doubt.

    Teams for the early kick-offs:
CSKA Moscow XI: Akinfeev; Fernandes, Becao, Magnusson, Nabakin; Oblyakov, Akhmetov; Vlasic, Dzagoev, Sigurdsson; Chalov.

Roma XI: Olsen; Santon, Manolas, Fazio, Kolarov; Cristante, N'Zonzi; Florenzi, Pellegrini, Kluivert; Dzeko.
Valencia XI: Neto; Wass, Paulista, Garay, Gaya; Guedes, Kondogbia, Coquelin, Soler; Rodrigo, Santi Mina.

Young Boys XI: Von Ballmoos; Mbabu, Lauper, Von Bergen, Benito; Fassnacht, Sow, Sanogo, Ngamaleu; Assale, Hoarau.

Will Valencia drop points once more before Juve's game with United? Hard to imagine it happens again despite Valencia's difficulty to find goals.

If CSKA win they overtake Roma in the group.

Great start for Roma. Manolas makes it 1-0. Akinfeev poor dealing with the cross.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,630 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Nice Guy

Valencia lead after Soler's nice little dink over the keepr hits the post, allowing Mina to slot the rebound.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,630 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Nice Guy

Assale equalises for Young Boys! Nice low strike into the far corner. Good news for United.

Valencia restore their lead. Mina gets another after Soler's cross.

Nearly 2-2 as Ngamaleu blazes over. Both sides looking vulnerable defensively.

Valencia insist on drawing every game so it's not over yet I imagine

CSKA equalise! Sigurdsson slides it past Olsen.

Update: Soler makes it 3-1 to Valencia. That's probably the result. Soler's had a good game.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,630 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Nice Guy

CSKA down to 10 men as Magnusson is given a second yellow for taking down Kluivert.

And shortly after Pellegrini makes it 2-1.

Doesn't look like any upsets imminent in these early games. Favourites in firm control.

Update: Straight red for Sanogo of Young Boys for a poor challenge. Both underdogs seeing out the final stages with 10 men now.

Going to watch Juve vs United and Lyon vs Hoffenheim out of the evening games.
Juventus XI: Szczesny; De Sciglio, Chiellini, Bonucci, Alex Sandro; Bentancur, Pjanic, Khedira; Cuadrado, Cristiano Ronaldo, Dybala.

Man United XI: De Gea; Young, Smalling, Lindelof, Shaw; Herrera, Matic, Pogba; Alexis Sanchez, Martial, Lingard.
Lyon XI: Lopes; Rafael, Denayer, Morel, Marcelo, Mendy; Ndombele, Tousart, Aouar; Fekir; Depay.

Hoffenheim XI: Baumann; Nuhu, Vogt, Bikakcic; Kaderabek, Grillitsch, Demirbay, Schulz; Belfodil, Joelinton, Kramaric.

Can't see United getting anything from this game. Fancy Ronaldo to get at least a goal, probably two.

Lyon going 5-3-2 is a surprise. Tough one to call with a lot of exciting talents on show. Want to see the home side win and good performances from Depay and Ndombele but feel like Joelinton could make the difference for the Germans.

    @English_AS
Ramos' elbow busts Havel's nose right open. A cynical chap might suggest the Madrid man knew exactly where the various body parts were in relation to each other...

    Fekir scores! 1-0 Lyon.

Crazy scramble in front of the goal following a stunning effort from Mendy that had hit the crossbar.

2-0 Lyon! Ndombele scores via a deflection after being picked out well by Mendy.

    Lyon playing some nice stuff.

Lyon lead 2-0 at the break. Genesio will be pleased with that. Ndombele, Fekir, Aouar and Mendy playing well while Lopes made a superb stop. Hoffenheim with a lot of work to do.

Just seen the City pen - what a shambles!

Ref must be under UEFA orders to draw attention away from the financial corruption they were happy to let pass.

That’s laughable how that was given as a penalty. He is an experienced ref too. Embarrassing decision.

He didn't to be fair. He kicked the ground and fell over. A dive would have been less of an embarrassment for a professional footballer.
