Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Yeah which would be even if Liverpool win 1-0. Then they'd be even on GD, so would go to goals scored and I think Liverpool might be ahead there

Could that goal Napoli conceded be vital if results stay the same? As in a 1-0 for Liverpool would be enough instead of needing 2?
Irrelevant. When teams finish level in the CL, it goes to head-to-head. If they're level after FT tonight, Liverpool will have to win by two at Anfield.

Crucial block from Alderweireld as Asamoah's strike was going in.

Spurs have won 1-0 to keep their hopes alive.

BT commentator just said Pool need to win by 2 clear goals if games stay as is tonight.

Been a lot of yellows for Liverpool. Will any of these lead to suspensions for the Napoli game? Commentators on VM Sport haven't said anything as far as I can recall.

Fair enough but on what basis are Napoli ahead of Liverpool if they are matched with points, head to head and GD? Thought goals scored was next

Full-Time and PSG win 2-1. Big result for Tuchel. They should be able to see the job out against Red Star now.

Liverpool vs Napoli shaping up to be a great one.

6 yellows from Pool .I suppose they are frustrated, a game they really needed something from and they have been comfortably beaten.

Away goals, then GD. If Liverpool win 1-0, they'll go through. But if they win 2-1, they're out. Any two goal win will also see them through.

1-0 win to Liverpool means it is 1-1 head to head.

It will also leave both teams in +2 GD with Liverpool scoring more goals so they would go through.

Needed nothing? What? You've literally just made qualifying ridiculously harder.

Facts get in the way? Sure why show up if you needed nothing. Why play full strength?

Ridiculous post. PSG didn't need anything either but they won and look they're qualified.

Thought Salah was very poor tonight, consistently beaten to the ball. You really need a big centre forward to hold up the ball in these away games.
The psg right back was probably motm.

Needed nothing from the game,so Pool went there to get beat?Would a point not make thing so much easier ?

Most of the cards were for stupid fouls when the game was going away from them.4 cards from 84 min on,that's just stupid .

Yep. My original point was that a 3-0 Napoli win tonight would have meant a 1-0 Liverpool win v napoli wouldn't have been enough but Napoli conceding and only winning 3-1 now means 1-0 would be enough.

    Hope I confused everyone :pac:

I'd fancy Liverpool on a big European night to win by two goals against most sides, but Ancelotti is a crafty old fox. He'll have something up his sleeve. Promises to be a cracking occasion. Very tough to know how it will go.

This isn't correct. It goes first by head-to-head, then goal difference, then goals scored and then away goals. If Liverpool win, then they'll be at worst same goal difference and they've already scored more goals than Napoli. The complication comes if PSG draw and they all end on 9 points.

PSG needed a point at least to stay in the comp so all pressure was on them, would have been great for Liverpool to get the win yes and gone through tonight, but they knew going into tonights game they always have a 2nd chance in the last game

That Napoli team are a very tidy outfit though. The 1-0 in Naples flatted Liverpool. Liverpool lost all three of their away games in the group. Massive game against Napoli and it's a game they could do without. Liverpool have a very, very busy month ahead.

Yes but Liverpool can't afford to drop points in the PL. Every game this month is a must win, if they want to win the title and that Napoli game is a huge game also now. If they got the win tonight and they got exactly what they deserved from the game, i.e. nothing, their big players could have had a rest week in the middle of the month, in preparation for the Man United game, who've nothing to play for that week.
