They will never top Fallout 3 or New Vegas.

I cannot believe they are launching the game in this format with micro transactions to boot.

I will be avoiding like the plague. Although, will probably pick it up for a tenner in CEX in January. :P

Most of those microtransactions are skins or emotes, I'd be more inclined to be angry if it was for high level items i.e Rare power armour, weapons, etc.

Emotes using Fallout's animations? I'm sure they're just bursting with personality.

The game is launch very soon, so how do you think is better to preorder it or wait and see how the community reacts on the product?

Skins and emotes...two things we used to be able to get via mods, are now completely monetized.

    Thanks Bethesda.

    Don't.
    Preorder.
    Games.

Especially something that is as broken as this, it'll be another year before it's fixed I'd say.

    Thanks Bethesda.

More and more it's becoming apparent how much power the shareholders and publishers hold over the game devs.

This game is a product of the creation of 'games as a live service'.

And the core values of what makes a Fallout game have been stripped away because of it.

Wait for it to go free to play with the way it's heading right now.

I really think Fallout 76 will be the game to finally erode the last bit of trust and goodwill Bethesda had built up over the years from fans.
The absolute state of the game, and a full price game at that.

Any other company that put out a product with the caveat "it's going to be **** (spectacular bugs) when we release it" would be gone out of business within weeks. I can see a lot of people being duped by this thinking it's an actual Fallout game.

My copy of the power armor special edition has shipped from game.co.uk

For those not aware; the Fallout 4 modding team has confirmed that it's basically all the same and as part of digging around they found it has 6 DLCs planned for it; got to keep charging...

It's been stated before that the future DLCs will be free, supported by microtransactions.

Whether you believe that or not is up to you.

I hope so and I don't mean that in an I want them out of business and jobs lost way. I mean what they have in terms of IP is great but I will never play another Fallout or Elder Scrolls game until they cop the f on and drag those franchises out of the last decade and no Bethesda making MMO's doesn't count. As much as people give Ubisoft a hard time at least they tried and did something with Assassins creed while not perfect was a good move. Last time with bethesda we got radial quests and settlements yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and a broken game

With all the open world games we have you have to try push the limit but this looks 8 years old and the frame rate looks terrible. Im not paying for this.

I'm gonna buy it and give it a good go. the lack of npcs doesn't bother me that much. a desolate world is more atmospheric imo. I think dlcs will come thick and fast to flesh out the endgame.

97gb is supposedly the game file size, so make sure to clear out free space for it.

Well it'll be out this week on Wednesday apparently which is strange; nobody knows in how much of a playable state.
As cruel as it sounds I expect a good crowbcat video on it.

    Out now on PC...

I'm so tempted to get this because I love Fallout, so I put Fallout 4 on last night and did some settlement construction. That took the edge right off the impulse buy urge.

Haha! I was watching a stream on Twitch and it really made me think of The Sims in a post-apocalyptic setting. I'll finish the last DLC in Fallout 4 this weekend instead.
