Spotted some good (funny) gardening facts of life on Pinterest....

The best fertilizer is a gardiners shadow.

Gardening is cheaper than therapy....and you get tomatoes!

Some from my mother in law:
If you are weeding and a pull up a plant easily, then it was a flower.
Grass grows easily in places you dont want it.

Read one in a book on self sufficiency in relation to weeds in the garden. Not as funny as some of the ones you list but seems to be fairly true:
"One years seeding is seven years weeding."
ie. don't let weeds go to seed or you will have more weeds for years.

If you want to figure out how long a gardening job is going to take, think of what you think its going to take, and then double it.

Yes, but it gets included in the compost that they make from the stuff from the brown bins, so not wasted in the long run.
