He won't get an easier goal than that but he has a massive grin on ihs face that will be hard to get rid of for a while.

The Yanks are reaping the benefit of youngfellas actually playing football rather than faffing about in colleges until they're old enough to get the pension.

They're getting a nice boost from this game anyway as well

The US have an impressive youth movement going since missing out on the World Cup.

    They'll look v good in 3 or 4 years.

Looking at this team and the players we're missing the immediate future actually isn't as doom and gloom as it seems. We've the makings of a half decent team here!!

Stop. We are an absolute shambles.

At least the US are doing something about it.

Mcclean was a bit peeved there. By the way us there a reason for the colorfull numbers on the players backs

Full-Time. 2-1 to Ireland. Not a good first half but a better second half. Our standard of crossing was a big disappointment. On the plus side, a nice send off for O'Shea and our first win of the year. Also good moments for Burke and Judge with the goals.

US were pretty muck, but it was nice to see Ireland play decently, if not well.

Is that Stephen Alkin commentating on the RTE highlights? Hasn't shut up about how great McClean's crossing is and that it's the highlight of the game so far...couldn't be further from the truth.

Have to say it was a good game, excellent result and a great evening for John and all involved.... John has been a massive credit to our International team and how he has performed and carried himself are a great credit and indication to his character. Seems like only yesterday he was making his debut, how time flies. Thanks for everything John.
