Try Google support or get more people to spam his reviews.

Another thing you could do would be to create a webpage criticizing his business.

Try and get the domain name the same as his company or similar and optimize it SEO wise for his business. It will always be displayed in organic rankings once it has been indexed by Google .

Topic and content of page could be “why you should never do business with ....”
that’ll fix him. Some stroke he had pulled changing google business name to your site.

It's not my site. He has used my name as his business name, my address as his business address, and my private mobile as the business one

    phone number
Perhaps tell anyone who rings that the business (and gets you) is no longer accepting new business?

  • Registered Users Posts: 290 ✭✭dollylama

He has now started to put up Google street view of outside my house

Google does that based on the address and marker, which it seems he changed to an address in Co. Laois?

    https://www.google.ie/search?q=mkw+kitchens

I've submitted the companies old details as an edit but they might not take. On the Google listing, you can click "Suggest an Edit" and either submit a correction, report the Streetview element or just report the whole listing

Contact a solicitor, as it sounds like harassment.

Also, ask the solicitor if you can liquidate/close the business, if he has your address listed as the business address?

Looks like GMB has withdrawn the direct phone support number but you can submit an issue and request a call back. From experience, their support staff are good and UK or US based

Take screen shots of everything and get onto the data protection commissioner on Tuesday morning.

    Don't engage any further.
Nothing good is going to happen at ten o'clock after a sunny Sunday of a bank holiday weekend.

Yes, I have changed the edit. He keeps changing it back. It's a bit silly

Are they the crowd showing up on Google as "Boyle" ??

Not sure how they done this as I thought to change and address or phone number on a Google Business listing required either postal or phone validation

I've dealt with G Business in the past. I'll see if I can dig up a contact path though I reckon it's not gonna be an easy one to get fixed

Yes that is them. Stupid thing is it still shows his business links underneath, so I'm not sure what he is achieving by this

What a dumb move on their part. Now a search for their business results in a "Permanently Closed" badge.

OP, you can report the DP breach as 'other legal removal issue' here:

I didn't bother checking this thread cause the title was a bit banal, but what an odd story.

The business reviews on google are a bit odd, only 3 and all from the last 2 days.. did you try get a few people to put up reviews and this was his retaliation? Unbelievably petty, and a bit creepy to be honest, he's changed it back again too..

Create a blogpost about it so when people do search it might always be there in the search results

OP , your predicament reminds me of online courses on coursera.

I gave this up though, because of the amount of marks awarded that depended on "Peer review" - other course participants. This had the effect of some course participants like myself getting some bad grades for some genuinely good assignments.

    You have an uphill battle.

Mod note: Hi folks, I'm closing this one down temporarily to transfer it to consumer issues, please note the change of forum and different forum rules.

Thanks to all for their assistance here,

    Hi,
I have written before about ongoing issue with a kitchen company based at axis business Park, Tullamore.
We have to date still no finished kitchen, and we have been contacted now by a number of others who are in the same boat.

What can be done about this?
Have written reviews online but guy who owns kept calling me and then put up my private details. There seems to be no where to complain someone like this

  • Registered Users Posts: 33,518 ✭✭✭✭dudara

    Merging threads together and reopened.

OP - if someone has made your details public without your permission, then that is against the GDPR and you can complain to the Data Protection Commission.

★ a month ago MKW kitchens still by another name. Owner decided that a bad truthful review warrented a GDPR. Breach, and then post new web landing page. Might be better to not spend 4 months plus on kitchens.

I am pointing out also, I keep receiving voicemails now from Justin Cullen of MKW kitchens.

That sounds like harassment. Go to the Gardaí

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,342 ✭✭✭seagull

Is he still trading? He's definitely committed a GDPR breach, which means he can kiss all his company assets goodbye if that is followed up on. I'd also second the garda recommendation.
