I have to choose as my Wimax provider is changing its service as a result of new regulations quite soon.

The mobile broadband is cheaper and I have line of site to the mast.

    Should I switch?

    Reliability????

How long is a piece of string?

You need to test local performance, afternoon-evening when the schools are off.

If both signals are coming from the same mast is it all down to price? Will the speeds be identical?

    Completely different technologies.

Test the mobile network you're considering as above, if crap go with Imagine LTE (Wimax is gonna be shut down).
