Praise the Lord! The temporary 60kph speed limit signs have finally been taken down! Waterloo junction remains closed, though.

Just drove up and down today and they were still on the Mallow direction this morning, were they only removed today?

Must have been this evening sometime. They were gone at 7.30pm when I drove to Cork.

Lots of workers out this morning at the Waterloo junction, something happening there, finally? Couldn't tell if they are blocking it off or removing the piles of stones to open it up again, they were just setting up the traffic cones as I drove past.

They were supposed to re-open it months ago, but have been endlessly dragging their heels.

They're clearing the ditch at either side of the junction so one could assume they are making slip lanes for entry (from Cork side) & exit (towards Mallow). Why they didn't do this for every junction along this road in the first place is beyond me, some have them and some don't and the ones that don't are incredibly dangerous with nary enough space inside the shoulder to pull out of traffic before turning off (even though there's plenty room to have widened the road by a few feet)

Anyway, it'll be interesting if they'll be errecting No Right Turn signs for the opposite entry & exit. Guaranteed people will just ignore them, anyway.
