Where is the best place in Ireland to live when you're single?

Things to do, quality of life, friendliness, affordability et al.

    Thanks in advance.

Ranelagh ? that is not the cheapest place to live.
OP have you a county you are currently in or want to live in that way it could be narrowed down.

Suitability would surely be based your needs rather than your relationship status

Not Dublin as too expensive but anywhere else really. Maybe somewhere in the west - Mayo, Leitrim, Donegal, Sligo?

Or maybe OP is looking for something more like a Dicksborough environment.

A few folk I work with relocated to our limerick office due to much cheaper rent coupled with a good social/nightlife. The city is really up and coming and while you still have a fair bit of horse and tack racing going on and the odd stabbing its a decent alternative to Dublin.

Do you have a job, or are you getting the dole, and intend to get a state subsidized house somewhere that will allow you to have a nice social life?

Look op how serious are you about getting the ride? You want to position yourself as close to coppers as possible if you're really serious about it to give you maximum chance of pulling some desperate young one /fella at kicking out time. All depends on your level of commitment

Would be working and buying a house. Not interested in casual sex.

This had to be a troll?

You can't seriously think you're just going to move somewhere, find a missus and settle down?

    Live doesn't work like that.

Dublin 5 on the Dart line. Friendly community, loads to do, dart in to the city centre. Ride almost guaranteed, just watch the snapper.

Your question is of the AH type; you want to buy a house, somehow get a mot there, and settle down straight away.

Nowhere in the OP is "getting a mot" mentioned.

I feel like I'm reading a different thread to everyone else.

Dublin, as near to 29-30 Harcourt Street as you can find and afford a place.

If you join Couchsurfing you can live anywhere and have pretty young ones in and out of your gaff all day long, even if you move to Tory Island.
