Noticed there's no thread for this. Really looking forward to it especially if the weather shows up. Decent support in Craig David and Soul to Soul too.

Any idea what time Chic and Niall are on at?

No interest in Craig David beforehand

Can't believe I've never seen him.

    Looking forward to Saturday.

He really should have the Freedom of the City he's been here so often.

Heineken have the contract, so their usual 4-5 brands.

Prosecco bar as well I think.

Anyone know how the ground is holding up in Malahide? Trying to decide what disco shoes to wear!

Not a bother on it last night for LG. Can’t imagine the spot of rain this morning will have made much difference.

    Great gig tonite.

Played all his standards and covers of tracks he's written/produced/played on eg Let's Dance Get Lucky.

Very moving interlude when he spoke about his cancer diagnosis and remission.

Insane amount of people there from 18 to almost 80.

Anyone with a spare hard copy ticket stub?! I collect mine, and seem to have Feckin lost mine...would be entirely grateful

The same interlude he spoke about last year at Glastonbury and again at the London New Years eve party on BBC. Getting great mileage out of that little nugget. Great to see him rocking and healthy but jaysus let it go.

Graet day altogether as was to be expected.

Did I hear him say at the end that he'd back for Electric Picnic or have I got that wrong?

Aw man I hope not, don't get me wrong, Chic were fantastic at the 2014 one but I don't know if I could handle them again at another Picnic, plus it would be lazy of the Picnic to book them again, they've played it twice now.

No he said the Chic revival began at an EP they played a few years back.

Great gig, like a massive outdoor disco. Atmosphere was great.

2009 I would say he is referencing .. really was a special gig.

It was one where when they came on (about 6pm in the evening) ... there was about 100 there ...passers by flocked in ... by the end the place was jammers/couldn't get near the tent (Electric Arena) /fog horns/ rendition of Ole Ole

They were genuinely blown away by the atmosphere & reception that day.

I didn't realise it was the gig that sparked the revival for them!
