I've been looking on Adverts and Done deal for a specific lens but am wonderingIf there is a better, photography specific site for used gear?

I know Sigma lenses are"cheap" anyway but I'm looking for a specific lens and even the cheap Sigma is out of my budget...

So if anyone knows where I should buy a Sigma 105mm 2.8 EX DG Macro OS HSM for Nikon, please let me know :)

Safe option, but not the cheapest available. I used this shop twice, it is coming from Holland, official Dutch market products, not a grey import of any sort.

There are einfinity etc, but haven't tried them yet, someone might come along and advise of those shops. Some have very good reputation.

    Sorry, just noticed used :)

Adverts, if it is to expensive, means you need to up your budget a little. Lenses hold value well.

if you're considering bricks and mortar stores and are based in dublin, conns would be have the best S/H selection; maybe berminghams after that.

Thanks. I'll consider any store type a long as I can get the cheapest option.

Checked all links provided so far with photospecialist being the cheapest at €415... Yikes!

Seems like I'll have to save a bit longer to be using anything other than my kit lens of I'm buying new. Bermingham's have an older version of the lens for sale, used, but not the version I'm looking for.

    That's a brand new price.

If you are looking at it you could very well look at second hand Nikkor 1.8 at that price point. Better value for money could be. Someone below asked why that specific lens and that is a very good question and opens a lot more options for you.

Is this the lens you’re after?

    https://www.mifsuds.com/Used-Products/Used-Auto-focus-Lenses/used-sigma-105mm-ex-macro-nikon?sort=pd.name&order=DESC

I haven’t used the company personally but know they’ve been around some time and they’re well regarded as a secondhand dealer.

Einfinity have amazing prices for new lenses and camera bodies. I've bought from them a number of times with no issues. They have excellent reviews on Trust Pilot also.

I've used Camera Jungle & MPB in the UK as well for used stuff. Excellent prices for gear in excellent condition and it will arrive in 2-3 days.

Not familiar with the lens or how previous versions compare however CEX appear to have a non OS version for sale on their website

    https://ie.webuy.com/product-detail?id=slenssig105nik&categoryName=camera%20lenses&superCatName=electronics&title=sigma%20ex%20105mm%20f2.8%20dg%20macro%20%28nikon%29

That said I know nothing about how good or bad they are to buy from so really just dropping the link for you to consider.

It's a balance of very tight budget and my needs. I'll be using it to capture insect macros for the most part. It also has optical stabilization, which will help as I won't be using a tripod for 99% of my shots.

This lens gets very good reviews and it obviously had some faults too but I think I can live with those.

Bottom line, I can't afford a Nikon micro/macro lens, this appears to be my next best option.

Yup, this and the other lens linked above are both the non motorized version without OS. I actually already looked at Cex yesterday and got excited until I realized it was the non OS version :) Also when went into my local Cex store to see if they had one.

Will take a look at some of the other links posted.

When in doubt, I'd always suggest saving a bit longer and getting the better lens. Long term you won't regret it. Picked up 2 Canon L series lenses about 12 years ago now, both are still in fantastic condition and I haven't needed to change gear and probably won't ever unless I decided to switch brands for some reason.

    Quality lenses are for life.

I appreciate the sentiment but I'd like the lens this year :) The reviews I've read are quite favorable and the equivalent Nikon lens is almost twice the price bought new and in sure the same is true when bought second hand...

You could always try phoning or emailing ffordes, cameraworld, camera jungle etc. and find out what they have coming in, but also give them the option of the sigma or the Nikon lens just to see what’s available.

Also Nikon uk have cash back in that lens at the moment which makes it only £700 ish which isn’t a bad deal.

If you serach "105mm lens cork" you will find a s/h Nikon at a good price or a Sigma (new) @ €495

If desperate, you could try Fotoskoda in Prague. (Or online)
Their prices are in Czech crowns, so check currency converters.
Just another suggestion on top of "the usuals"
I've bought used lenses from SRS Microsystems in the UK with good luck. (New gear as well)
