Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Oddly enough Musnter and Leinster games on the same time Saturday. Both kicking off at 5.30pm

Serious amount of whinging going on about this. To me, the surprising thing is that it has not happened before

They were talking about this on OTB, it was the French and English with the TV rights prioritising their own games.

Well to clarify. The broadcasters were prioritising the profitable games for them. Not a huge BT Audience in Ireland apparently. So it seems they're better off making sure English games don't clash.

Yup, train network in Britain is great. Edinburgh, Leeds, Bradford, Sunderland, Manchester, Glasgow....all 2.5 hours or less from Newcastle on the train.

Whatever you do do not stay in Bradford.

Wasted space on the Scarlets player foreheads, could easily fit another sponsor on there ....

Exeter open with a converted try, they are dominating.

Exeter open with a converted try, they are dominating.

If Exeter could win this with a bonus point then they are still alive in this group. Would put them on 8 points, potentially only 3 points off top if Munster don't get anything in Castres

    14-5 to Exeter now.

This is more like the Exeter of last year. Nice to see they finally turned up to the competition.

Be perfect it the score stayed like this.

    .... and just then it’s 5 - 17. Still good for munster

10-17. Two missed conversions for Gloucester.

Exeter up to 3 tried now and 6 mins left. Bonus point a real possibility now. ****e

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,296 ✭✭✭coco0981

Exeter have 5 minutes to get a 4th try

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,150 ✭✭✭✭LuckyGent88

And Gloucester hit back straight away with a cracking try.

Gloucester get one. Still time for either team to get a TBP win

    Exeter get it. Hilarious game

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,150 ✭✭✭✭LuckyGent88

And then Exeter get the bonus try!! This isn’t a great result either.

Incredible result for Munster. It's like the other teams in the pool formed a suicide pact to get Munster through

Not the best result for Munster, but way better than a Gloucester win.

Yes it is. They're still only on 8 points. Gloucester winning would have been much worse. Munster can now afford a LBP and still be 4 points clear. And if Munster win tomorrow, the group is basically won.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,599 ✭✭✭ScrubsfanChris

With that loss, Scarlets become the first team to be mathematically eliminated.

How? A Gloucester win would have had Munster in serious danger of missing out on topping the group. It's basically a fait acompli now.

  • Registered Users Posts: 24,258 ✭✭✭✭Buer

Brilliant result for Munster. Exeter might put up a fight now for a runner's up spot but they can now lose today and still top the group with room to spare.

Castres can achieve a maximum of 20 points if they win with bonus points in all games. Gloucester and Exeter can only make it to 18. Two 4 point wins and a losing bonus point will put Munster on 20. Given they have a 25 point lead on Castres already (the first method of separation for teams on same points) there's no realistic way Castres will go ahead of them.

Munster will need to lose two of their final three games not to top this pool. And even then they could still finish on 18 points and top it.

Not the best result for Munster, but way better than a Gloucester win.

Castres are still in with a chance now a TBP win and deny Munster any BP and

    Munster 11
    Castres 10
    Glaws 8
    Exeter 8

Which is why I implied a Gloucester loss is a good thing.

I think you've misread something here?

I think it's about seeding for Munster now.

    Like every year!
But losing out on a TBP last week will hurt us come January I imagine.
That said, they have fooked around with the semi final arrangements which could end up in our favour.
Although I must confess I haven't got my head around that even slightly yet.

Munster Group is woeful, each team throwing points away....Munster should be topping and looking for a top seeding....

Handy win for Munster today, can't see any other result...not sure if we pick up a bp though

Yes I did. That said, it essentially is the best result for Munster so I don't get the general sentiment at all.

A Munster win today would be great news for Ulster as well as it means 2nd place is unlikely to get more than 16 or 17 points in that pool.

Cardiff really not bringing much to the party today.

    Boom back in this

Aussie Healy could do with an elocution lesson for his commentary

How did Matalawu not get games at either Bath or Exeter. I know that sexual assault allegation didn't help at Bath, but AFAIK he only played A rugby for chiefs.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 27,325 Mod ✭✭✭✭Podge_irl

Cardiff could do us all a favour here the way they are playing. You'd still expect Saracens to grind it out in the second half though.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,201 ✭✭✭troyzer

Cardiff are doing Leinster a favour if this score sticks.

Nice turnaround from Cardiff. They seem well up for it now and crowd right behind them.

Toulouse would be expected to beat Wasps today yeah? So could stay ahead of Leinster even if they get the tbp I think

Great turnover penalty on the line for Cardiff there. Which is good, cause I have no clue why on earth they conceded a penalty to get Saracens there in the first place. Ref gave a penalty for not rolling away when no tackle had happened in the first place.

Garces isn't giving Cardiff much. Lineout before the last penalty wasn't close to straight, knock on advantage lasted an age etc.

Yeah agreed. He just ignored a Saracens knock on there too.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 27,325 Mod ✭✭✭✭Podge_irl

Saracens had clearly put the ball to the back of that non-existent maul for obstruction too.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,458 ✭✭✭kuang1

Yellow for Saracens. That balances the books a bit.

Hopefully the Blues can go ahead here and get 7
