Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    6) Glasgow, 19 points, 47 PD
    7) Ulster, 18 points, 2 PD

Leinster, racing, Glasgow, saracens and embra qualified.
    Montpelier definitely out.
Ulster very nearly there. Munster’s chances of a home qf depending on leinster or racing losing.

That puts all three provinces in the competition in a unique spot of all rooting for Racing to lose.

Munster and Ulster want a home quarter, Leinster want a home semi.

Racing losing can satisfy two of three of these depending on how things go elsewhere.

    Exeter, 13 points, 22 PD

    So possibly
    Sarries v Ulster
    Racing v Glasgow
    Leinster v Toulouse
    Embra v Munster

    Or

    1 Sarries v Glasgow
    2 Racing v Toulouse
    3 Leinster v Ulster
    4 Embra v Munster

Ulster TBP win and Leinster win means this is very likely

If Racing, Sarries, Toulouse all get TBP (which i expect), then Leinster just need a win to be 3rd seed.

Munster v Exeter is effectively a QF playoff with Exeter needing a 4-0/5-1 result

The most likely scenario now is that three of the quarters will be between teams of same group. Assuming Ulster win of course.

An Ulster TBP win means only 1 QF will be a repeat (Sarries v Glasgow)

If Sarries, Racing (TBP), Leinster win, Ulster win without TBP but Toulouse get TBP win then we have 3 pool stage repeats

    Sarries v Glasgow
    Racing v Ulster
    Leinster v Toulouse

I don’t think Leicester will lie down at home so I think a bp win for Ulster very unlikely. But sure that’s why this competition is so great. And There’s always one or two results to feck up all the predictions.

Ulster basically have to decide who they want to end their European campaign.

    Saracens, Racing, Leinster or Brexit

    Actually

Racing v Ulster and Leinster v Toulouse

Ulster and Leinster win, means Semi final in Aviva???

The most Ulster thing to do is win an away QF to secure a home Semi final in Dublin v Leinster.

Sarries play Glasgow so think Glasgow will finish 8th. Originally thinking Ulster would be 6th but thinking maybe 7th now. Mad if it's 3 repeat matches!

Seemingly Ulster only has a say in three of those options...

My preference is Saracens. We have too many mental scars against Leinster and I just can't see us winning in Paris. I don't think we'd beat Saracens either, but post 6Ns, if our pack is at full strength I think we probably have more chance against Saracens than the other two.

Either way just making the Quarter Finals this season is quite an achievement for this Ulster side which is very much at the start of a journey.

Bit sad to see how many washed up foreigners are in the French club sides. The wonderful backs they had one time and the flair and pace they played at. Montpellier were stuffed with SAs. So many young French players being denied an opportunity.

I wouldn't be surprised if Ulster struggle against Leceister. I presume Addisson will take the kicks.

Nice to see 2 Scottish sides in the 1/4s. Doesn't reflect well on the English clubs with just Saracens likely to make it.

Saracens, Racing, Leinster, Edinburgh, Munster, Toulouse, Ulster, Glasgow - so 1 English, 2 French, 5 Pro14 - looking likely.

5 out of 7 teams going through from Pro 14 would be huge.

Heh. There's a nice irony in the only English team left being from London, the Scots through and Welsh teams out. Rest if England and Wales wanted to be out of Europe eh?! :P

He's had some procedure on his thumb. Supposedly puts him at risk for the England game but I'm sure it won't

It won't make a jot of difference. They're facing Glasgow here not Clermont. Alex Goode will be fine and the pack will destroy Glasgow.

Given he's having surgery today though there could be huge implications for the English team if he doesn't make it back for the first match.

    That’s really a ridiculous situation.
They need to change the format- you shouldn’t be allowed to play the same team from your group.

Come on Glasgow, Williams has always been a dirty player. He likes nothing more than hitting a player in the act of scoring.
