Anyone got their final tix yet. I can no longer go and need the hard copies so I can sell them on. :(

Not yet, no. Got an email from from Newcastle United last week (with subject line ‘Two months until the Newcastle 2019 Finals Weekend’) saying that they’d be sent out in April but I’ve no idea of what time April that might be.

I'd imagine the provinces more than likely run at a loss also, particularly Leinster/Munster, as the IRFU don't break down revenue and costs by provinces including central contracts.

This will probably change by end of this weekend's matches, in order at least. But looking like La Rochelle will get 20th spot unless they qualify themselves as things stand.

    Pro 14:
Munster, Glasgow, Connacht, Leinster, Ulster, Bennetton, Ospreys or Edinburgh

    Top 14:
Toulouse, Clermont, Lyon, Racing, Catres, Bordeaux , La Rochelle (8th)

    Prem:
Exeter, Saracens, Gloucester, Harlequins, Sale, Bath

Going to be in Majorca next week for the Semi’s anyone know of any bars that have BT in Palma?

Going to contact a few during the week but if anyone has been managed to see a game over there. It would be great.

A lot of the Irish/English bars look grim

No Toulon for the first time since 2011/12. Can't say I feel sorry for them.

Anyone had their tickets in the post for the final yet? I thought they were supposed to be sent out a month before the game?

Delighted to see Clermont back in the Comp to be honest. Whether it was the team or the supporters, always added something to the wkend games.

One of the best teams to not win the competition. Them and Racing

Racing? Really....bit of a blow in last few season....

Clermont are around the tournament for years, semis/finals etc

Wouldn't remotely put Racing in that category.

Clermont the clear front runners in that category for me (would love to see them eventually get over the line, their supporters are great) but Biarritz from the 2000's deserve a mention.

Decent amount of tickets available for the final again if anyone is still on the lookout!

at a guess they'll be sent out end of next week when most of the remaining tix are sold and they know the name of the finalists to put on the tickets, and just do one massive mailing

    No, not yet.

Going to the challenge cup final on the Friday and the big one on the Sat.

Was hoping Connacht would make challenge Cup final

As much as I’d like to see a Leinster vs Munster final, Saracens will smash Munster I’d say. Could beat them by 20 points or more.

Leinster by 1-8 points vs Toulouse

Live in Newcastle these days. Spoke to them on the phone Monday. Said they were busy printing the tickets this week and will be posting them out early next week.

Also, off to Coventry in the morning (from London) and still hopeful of a Munster v Leinster final. Earls and Carbery out is a massive blow but I am hoping it's written in the stars for me to see Munster play in Newcastle!!! Easter is for miracles after all 😛

The memories of the 06/08 winning Munster sides will never die but tbh it's hard too compare those teams/competition to what it is today with all the flashy money/jerseys/stadiums etc.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,245 ✭✭✭ClanofLams

Think Munster will push Saracens all the way today but just come up short.

Toulouse to shock Leinster in Dublin tomorrow.

Toulouse-Saracens definitely the neutrals choice. Two best attacking sides in the tournament

Not the best rugby, but highly entertaining. So much happening.

La Rochelle player could have thrown the game there with a daft kick at a Sale player that's copped by the TMO after the final whistle goes.

  • Registered Users Posts: 24,258 ✭✭✭✭Buer

Incredible ending here. Sale could pinch it somehow.

In a strange turn, Nigel might have cost Sale the game in the end.

Insane ending there, La Rochelle destroy Sale's attacking scrum on their 10m line.

What a great game. I sort of love the Challenge Cup

Just want to quietly point out the irony of a Munster man taking issue with someone who tried to put the fear of God into people. :pac:

How hard can it be to have a reliable system the referees, assistants refs and TMO can use to talk to each other? They seem to have a communication issue in most games.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,120 ✭✭✭shrapnel222

Is that the hardest game Nigel has ever had to referee? That was exhausting and completely nuts from start to finish.

He seemed reluctant to let the TMO have his say. Kept interrupting him.

I don't agree with that penalty at all.

Sinckler changed his line to cross in front of penaud (?) and caused that collision.

    Pen clermont in my view

I agree. I don't like the rule that says you can hold your line.
If you are not competing for the ball, get out of the way.
