If that doesn't work out for you this guy http://manofaranfudge.ie has a stall in the George St. Arcade where he sells honeycomb

That's from Romania so unfortunately no use to the OP.

@OP the evidence behind this theory is very shaky but even in the best case, you're supposed to take it for weeks before you see the benefit.

Just be aware that that honey comes from the Carpathian mountains. Not knocking it but usually when people want to try honey to help against hay fever, they feel its crucial to get it from bees in their locality (on the basis that it might contain some of the pollens that they react to).

If this is your objective it should make no difference if you get honeycomb or honey in jars. Honey in jars from Irish beekeepers is simply the honey taken from the comb. Its filtered to remove wax and bee bits, but this wouldnt remove any of the pollen. Its not processed in any way.

If youre buying in the shops, look at the label to see where it comes from. Dont be fooled by it being branded with Irish placenames or Irish family names. If it says blend of EU and non Eu honeys, even if its called Paddy McGintys honey from Ballydehob, its probably from China.

As a beekeeper myself I would never make any health claims for my honey. I know that some hay fever sufferers swear by it but also that this has not been scientifically proven to help.

if you want genuine honey from north dublin, i suggest you contact the Fingal beekeepers association. Theyre on facebook and should be able to steer you in the right direction.

Keith Pierce sells his local honey in Gleesons in Roselawn Shopping Centre and in Justins on Main Street, Blanchardstown. He has hives in Farmleigh.

Aside: I have hay fever but it's been negligible for the last few years. I sometimes wipe Vaseline inside my nose.
My son has been using Zirtec to reduce his symptoms. At night we put drops of eucalyptus oil on his pillow and Vicks on his chest but these might be mostly psychological remedies.

You might get to talk to Keith at the honey show in the phoenix park in September. I met him there before
