It's about 20cm cubed. Although Ryanair's t+c don't specifically mention it or anything like it under the "blunt instruments" section, I'd imagine it could do a lot more damage to someone than a nail clipper.

I'd be more concerned what Airport Security would say when you present it to be scanned.

Ryanair are more concerned that you don't exceed their cabin baggage size and 10KG weight limit.

Does it fit inside the cabin baggage gauge ? Is it less than 10kg?

It fits into my backpack easily and I reckon it's about 10kg, give or take. I've never had this bag weighed or given more than a glance at check in.

So that answers your question as far as Ryanair staff are concerned so, once it’s a “small item” that you’re allowed to carry on and won’t be checked in at the gate, i.e. it won’t be touched/lifted by any staff as you can carry it yourself

    So it's only 2.7cm x 2.7cm x 27cm?

Nail clippers are allowed on board (most blades are as long as the blade is less than a certain length, what length that is, I cannot recall).

That would be 20 cubic centimetres; 20cm cubed is fairly clear in meaning 20x20x20.
