Sorry if this is really obvious, but.....

The immersion isn't heating the water anymore.
We have the home standard immersion switch (with on/off and sink/bath) beside the hotpress.

    Everything still looks as normal.
The switch works on/off alright, and the normal red light comes on.
Its not tripping anything in the fuse box.

But its just not heating the water at all.

Anybody got an idea what might be wrong?

It's most likely a faulty element I would imagine. Does it not heat the water in either position (bath or sink)?

    Thanks.

No. Neither bath or sink working.

Crap that sounds expensive....is that the element in the actual tank you’re talking about? 😩

It could be the thermostat, may not need to change the element

It may be as simple as the over temp cut out.

Get an electrician but ask them to bring possible parts required so they can fix with a single visit if possible.

    (Try pressing the reset button)

Hopefully a reset of this sorts you out.

If not, you'll need an electrician to check the heater itself. If he can't fix it, then you may need to get a plumber in, as there will be a certain amount of cylinder draining required that some electricians won't want to do. Also, if you're in a hard water area, and if its been in for a good few years, great care is needed to unscrew the heater from the cylinder as they can get seized up and might not come out without damaging the cylinder. :-(

Please let us know what's involved and if your electrician was able to replace the element without the services of a plumber.

You could try the reset yourself.

    Check out this recent thread...

    Hi OP,
    Any success?

I seem to be having the same issue in the past week.
Not sure whether to try tackle it myself (not particularly handy), or call in a professional.

Is the water in your area particularly hard? Can cause issues with heating elements
